Do You Dream (Poem)
Do you dream of me As I dream of you Do you see the things You once knew Do you dream of life Here on Earth Do you hear the spite In every word I can't shake the feeling, That perhaps you don't dream of anything. Maybe, where you are now, everything is so beautiful, that you no longer have to dream Of a better life Or a better home I hope I'm right In paradise you roam But if you just so happen to reside beneath me I hope you still have the power to envision great things And if you still dream, please dream of me Because the tears I've shed, would shame a sea. Do you dream of life Or more so of fantasy Do you dream of life Or what came after it Do you understand How you've left me Unable To mourn correctly. I don't blame you Lord knows I could not And every time I think of you, I know I should not. But every single night your name and all of your likeness appears in the midst of my slumber and why? I haven't a clue. So again, I ask Do you dream of me As I dream of you. Are the things you see True Together we will be Soon Make sure you throw my name around at the next rendezvous Because I belong, right there with you. When you left, I couldn't understand why, But now I see it was so you could save me a seat Whether it be beneath the dirt or up in the sky, We'll be together again, you and I. Everything that we've been through, All the things we never got around to, Our shared views, The happiness we pursued, Walking down the avenue, Like we used to do, If I had just one minute to speak, just one last favor to ask of you, I hope you'll give me the response I seek, The only question I can think to present to you, Is Do you dream of me, As I dream of you. -A
