the aroace read of ryland grace is so personal and haunting. "you don't even have a dog." was it not enough to love the world for the sake of living in it. was it not enough to live for the thrill of discovery. was it not enough to smile at your students. was it not enough to be afraid.

I feel like grace was in such a rush to turn that ship around and hightail it back to rocky that he was indiscriminate about what data he sent back. just shoved it all into the beetle probes, just to realize ‘ok so 20% of that data is scientific breakthroughs to save the world……..80% me and rocky’s movie reviews. and I def forgot to delete the fifteen minute long dance off. hm.’

it’s kinda funny bc the videos of grace hanging out w rocky is the happiest eva stratt had ever seen him. like imagine guilts been haunting you and the laws been hunting you and for decades you have no idea if it’s been all for nothing and then….. first clip you see is the scientist and a sentient rock going “this is me and my BOI ✌️”

Someone mentioned the idea of Grace having an oral fixation (let me be clear, chewing on stuff. Really hope that doesnt mean anything else), and not I absolutely cannot get it out of my head. It just works so well. I too chew on things when I'm thinking sometimes.
