I cannot believe that I binged watch Orange anime last night. Like literally all 13 episodes in 1 night. I started around 11PM and finished by 7AM. Actually I did not plan on watching the entire series in one go, but the story and the damn cliffhangers really pushed me to continue watching and to click those next ep button without realizing that it was already morning. 

At first I thought this was just one of those typical shoujo or romance anime about teenage/high school love stories. As I go along with the series, I came to realize that there is something deep with the story as it actually deals with depression and suicide. The story evolved how genuine friendship, love and relationship in general can help a person overcome depression and avoid committing suicide.

Depression is quite difficult to deal with as 1. we cannot tell if a person is suffering from it. People have different personalities and with that, people also differs in acting out their emotions. Like some people act very strong but in reality they’re fragile or already broken. 2.There’s no way in telling if what we do or not do may trigger a depressed person to commit suicide. We might only realize a person is depress when it’s already too late. If we can only turn back time and know which option/path to take, maybe we can prevent a person from ending his/her own life. The anime just did that and showed how a person was helped overcome depression and prevent committing suicide thru letters from present which time traveled to past. The story for me in general was heartwarming, not overly dramatic. The genuine friendship and love showed by each character really touched my heart. I wish I have friends like them, ahahaha.

On a side note, I just find the ending hmmm slightly lacking. Lacking in a sense that I feel the story has not end.. I don’t know. I felt like it was an open-ended ending but its not.. ahaha.. Was he actually saved? or was there another world where they have a different future? Anyway, I just wanted to rant about this amazing anime. Watch it too!
