The red-haired swordsman bowed low to the words, no room for debate sprinkled throughout. He was stubborn to be sure, and as ‘stupid’ as her words suggested. She wasn’t the only one to arrive at such a conclusion. There were others that arrived at the determination along the course of his travels. But he wasn’t prompted by any sort of passionate outburst that might bubble forth to be turned down so. He had an odd calmness about him, a peace and serenity that certainly didn’t reflect on the inside.
No, it was quite a different story inside of his heart. There, it was darker, more foreboding, without the capacity that would allow for him to truly live. For the moment, all he could do was to keep moving. Never quite touching those lives he met with, but never able to completely remove himself from their presence entirely.
A fine balance.
Well, that was life’s struggle.
“I will go.” He confirmed. “…. however….” He lifted his eyes. “I’ve been traveling a great distance and would ask if, perhaps, you may lend to me sanctuary for a short time? Just to recover my wits about me. I can cook. And clean as well.” He would not stay for free, though… he almost had his doubts such a thing would be extended by her.
--- Foot tapped on the solid ground below. Usually, her outright dismissal was more than enough shoo people away, and yet here this one still stood and even worse, he was still talking. Golden brown eyes remained focused on the taller for but a moment longer. To have him stay anywhere near her would quickly bring about a cause for concern. After all, she was sure his presence would only bring about distraction -- if this chatter was anything to go by. Yet she could do little more than tilt her head, a look of resignation taking hold momentarily.
After all, the place in which she had sought shelter wasn’t that of her own home. She too was also a traveller, as of this moment at least.
“The offer of sanctuary is not mine to give, to do such would be assumptive. This home in which I currently reside, well, to say it was mine I would have lied,” turning away once more, Shantotto pointed a little ahead, “The building is over yonder, of the two it is the larger. As for my help, this is all you shall get, for now, I really must jet,” Once more she began to walk, her tiny determined feet leading her to an area she’d yet to inspect.
“To think I’d be so detained when there is still much to see, children never know when haste is the key,“ a sigh escaped her lips, once more musing aloud, her words no longer directed at the currently present male “At least I still have time, while the light is still in it’s prime,“ For as it were, the smaller had been in search of something. Something that could possibly sway her research towards completion -- or one that would simply throw her work awry and have her start once more from scratch.
But wasn’t that where the fun could be found? Shantotto certainly thought so.
