The truth you need to remember about being raped and or sexually abused in any way:
Someone sexually abusing you when you were a child is not your fault.
If you were scared and didn’t defend yourself, that’s not your fault for not fighting, it’s their fault for doing that to you in the first place.
Sexual pleasure during rape is not uncommon, it’s your body reacting naturally despite what’s going on. No matter what, you were attacked, no amount of sexual stimulation can change that.
You don’t need to be embarrassed about number 3. It’s not your fault.
It’s your body and if someone touches you sexually (or in general while we’re talking about this) without permission/consent, it’s wrong and they are at fault, not you.
Rape is never your fault.
Because they were drunk is not an excuse.
Because you were drunk is not an excuse.
7 and 8 go for any other substances too.
Just because they say they “love you” doesn’t make it okay.
Rape is NEVER your fault.
You are fine the way you are nobody can blame their attacks on you not being “good enough: or a “good boy/girlfriend”.
Just because you’ve slept together before and or are dating doesn’t mean they don’t have to get consent.
Sex is for enjoyment and emotional connection, you should do it because you want to, not because you feel like you have to.
Someone touching you inappropriately is not your fault.
It doesn’t matter if it’s gentle and caring, and not violent. If you don’t give consent, it’s rape.
RAPE IS NEVER YOUR FUCKING FAULT DAMMIT.
Them being your friend or even your lover gives them no excuse.
. If anyone puts down on you for anything of the nature that might have happened to you in the past- you have free range to kick them.
Sexual assault and sexual abuse are both mentally taxing. If you are in a sexual situation and you don’t want to have sex, or start to feel triggered or uncomfortable during sex, IT’S OKAY TO STOP. If the other person doesn’t want to stop THEN TOO BAD FOR THEM THEY NEED TO STOP BECAUSE CONSENT WAS REVOKED AND YOU CAN REVOKE CONSENT.
You don’t “owe” anyone anything.
It’s okay to talk about it, it’s okay to cry about it, you need to let it out.
Any scars left over on your body from assault do not define any part of you.
The memories of assault do not define you.
I don’t care if you’re passed out drunk and naked in the middle of the floor of a crowded sex club, you are NEVER asking for it.
Girls can rape boys, end of story.
Things that have happened to you in the past do not define your beauty/worth/talent/anything.
