So how is Valentino's relationship with Angel in the bygone au?

Good question!

As expected, it's VERY different from canon. Val still owns Angel's soul, but their relationship is quite the opposite of their canon counterparts. That being said, not everything is perfect.

There was a VERY rocky start, but overtime, both settled into a more professional relationship. Or, at least, as much as a recluse overlord and a hot-evaded, trigger happy spider could be. As second in command of Valentinos drug operations, Angel is actually treated with much respect by the other.

They're drinking buddies on occasion, too!

All in all, though, they both have developed high regards for each through the years. It's complicated, but there's nearly an unsaid friendship between them. Val is just too stoic, and Angel is too prideful to admit it.

Val is actually the reason Angel is at the hotel, but that's a story for another time. ;)
