deity check-in spread 💠🌷✨🌸
for those of you who are a devotee to a deity like myself, i am constantly wondering if there’s anything i could change, or if things are going good for both of us. it doesn’t hurt to check in, whether you’re new to it or have only been doing it for a fair time. so, this spread is for those of you who want to see how things are goin!enjoy lovelies 💛💛💛
🌷1 Are you happy with how our relationship is currently going?
i feel like this is an incredibly common question that we all want answered haha. just to check in and make sure things are going well!
🌷 2 What do you see our relationship looking like in the future?
another question that i feel is incredibly important to ask every once in awhile. this card is here to show you how things will look + to get an insight into whether or not things will stay on a good path. if not, here’s your chance to mend it/find a solution!
🌷3 What should I do in order to keep our relationship on a positive path?
whether or not your deity is happy with your relationship now, this card can reassure you of ways to make sure they continue to be happy, or start becoming happier! and if things need to change or come to an end, this card may also point you in that direction.
🌷 4 Am I worshipping you in a correct way that you’re happy with?
this is a question that i personally have quite frequently and plan on asking every once in awhile. i feel its so important to check in and make sure what you’re doing is making both you AND your deity happy!
🌷5 Is there anything I should change about the way I’m worshipping you?
and lastly. another good question to ask, just in case some things could be flipped around! they very well may be going great, but it can never hurt to ask huh?
I’m trying to figure out which deity I connect with the most and so I made this spread! Just focus on a deity of your choice and ask these questions!
1. What do you think of me?
2. What are the pros of our potential relationship?
3. What are the cons of our potential relationship?
4. How would we benefit each other?
5. Is this a good match?
Let me know how it goes if you use it! So far, I’ve used it for Artemis, Hades, Hecate, and Selene and it’s been really interesting. Also, sometimes they will have more than one card for the first question. Just follow your intuition and good luck!
-Kalli 🌙
If you’re questioning about working with a deity:
1.) Should I worship (deity)
2.) What will the outcome be?
3.) Will we be a great match?
4.) Advice for the situation
Sometimes you need to check up with your deities, so I created this little spread I use to talk to my deities!
How is our relationship right know?
How can I improve our relationship?
A message you got for me
Like this spread? support me here or get a reading from me
This spread doesn’t have a name yet, but it’s one I use in order to get a good idea of where I stand/where things are going when I begin to work with a new deity, or to check in with one I’m already familiar with.
Card 01 - Who is this deity? You can basically look at this card as doing two things. The first thing is verification, to make sure you know which deity you’re dealing with. I’m especially in love with this position because I have a problem of asking after a particular deity and then getting a different one answering me when I do this spread.
The second part comes into play in figuring out which aspect of a deity you’re dealing with, if it comes to that. I have noticed that a lot of the deities I work with will present a COMPLETELY different side of themselves to others. It’s nice to know who you’re getting.
Card 02 - What will our relationship be like? This card kind of colours how I interpret the other cards in the reading. A friendly, easy going relationship will cause me to look at the cards differently than a distant, business-like relationship. But it also serves the obvious purpose of warning you of what you’re getting into.
Card 03 - What do they want from me? If you’re picturing me asking this question in a sort of desperate and hopeless way then you are correct XD;; But yeah, knowing what’s expected or required of you is always a handy thing to check.
Card 04 - How can I best make this happen? It’s kind of difficult to determine how to actually go about what you need to do, that thing and that’s what this card is for.
The first time I did this reading, it was hijacked by another deity who wanted to go out of their way to make sure I knew things were over between us — and the card I got in position #3 was the Two of Swords and the card I got here was the Ten of Swords. I needed to let go and acknowledge that our goals are too different to really reconcile with each other. And in my case, to do that, I needed to realize that the circumstances had changed irrevocably. (Ten of Swords, for me, is not only a death more final than Death, it’s an end to all pretenses and a revelation of total Truth.)
Card 05 - What may get in my way? Because when is anything ever easy, right?
To continue on my last example, what was getting in my way of moving on was my deeply rooted fear of change, of having to rebuild, and an unwillingness to dismantle what was no longer working so that I could build something better, and a fear that if things went wrong, I would have no safe space to turn to.
Card 06 - Ultimate outcome of the relationship. Straightforward enough, I think.
~
I really like the way this spread’s positions interact with each other. Card 3 (what’s expected of you) and Card 4 (how to best do that) are diagonal from each other, and I’ve personally gotten a lot of insight from having card 5 directly in-between what your relationship will be like and what you’re going to be doing in that relationship. When laid out, the cards kind of go back and forth between your perspective and the deity’s, so it’s kind of like a conversation in that way.
🌊🌀Sinking or Sea Grounding🌀🌊
🌀 Sinking is a type of “grounding”, which is the act of separating any excess energy from your own vital energy, and releasing it to the environment around you, often with it being absorbed by the Earth, or in this particular case, by the Sea. Think of it like a thunderstorm. You’re creating a difference in potential between your vital energy, and all the excess energy that may be stuck on you, or that may be remnant from spellcasting, etc. The Earth, and the Sea, naturally have a tendency to absorb energy, so once you make that difference, it will get out of you naturally, so it may as well be used by other living beings, and continue the cycle.🌀
🌀 First, you’ll need to be on the water, not fully submerged if you don’t want to, but the water has to be at least up to your hips (where your root energy center is located, thus facilitating the energy exchange). I recommend sitting in a comfortable position, as it can take a few minutes. Specially if you haven’t done this for a while, it’s always recommended to take it slowly and carefully.
🌀 When you get on the water, you can feel either energy draining, or energy getting inside your own energy circuit. Both are normal, but which one you’ll experience depends on your energy levels. It’s like putting a glass on the water, if the water (energy) level is lower, water will get inside, if it is higher, you may feel drained, due to the Ocean’s innate hability to neutralize/take away unneeded energy. Either way, make sure you first stabilize that energy level before proceeding with your sinking.
🌀 Once energy is flowing normally again, and the energy levels are balanced, concentrate on your own vital energy, localize your energy centers, and differentiate energy that is vital for you, from any excess that is out of place. Now “raise“ or keep flowing your own energy, but drag anything else to the bottom, to the lowest energy center in your body, and let it out. Syncronize with the flow of the waves, and let them wash away all unneeded energy. Do it slowly, and make sure to take out only what you don’t need, or it may make you feel dizzy, tired or hungry.
🌀 Once you’re done, you simply “seal” or affix your own energy to yourself, and close the circuit so unwanted energy doesn’t get inside again as soon as you leave the water. After that, you’re ready to do as you please~
🌀 Tip: You can get or make yourself “anchor beads”. These are like prayer beads, but instead of a tassel it has some sort of “grounding“ or in this case, “sinking“ associated item on them. The beads are connected to you, and your own energies, but the anchor makes excess energy get “heavier” than your own energy, and helps getting it our of your system. Many people chant prayers while grounding so this can come in handy!
💙With love, Nao💙

How to Close a Reading, as My Grandma Taught Me
“Interpreting the last card does not mean you are done. You have ten more things to do before the reading is through.”
1. Count the major arcana.
The more there are, the stronger the reading’s predictions will impact the querent’s life. If there are none or just one, almost none of it will matter in the long run.
2. Note the sequence of the major arcana.
If the querent is asking about someone, and the major arcana are between 0 and 16, that person is not meant to stay in their life. If the question is about a dream or an opportunity, and the cards fall between 17 and 21, it will manifest completely.
3. Count the cards from each suit.
The presence of all suits predicts a balanced outcome. More Wands means strong passion. More Swords means anxiety or manipulation. More Cups means the heart is running the show. More Pentacles means wealth is about to diminish or grow.
4. Mind the aces and the tens.
Two or more aces means the situation is only just beginning. Two or more tens means it is now coming to a good or bad ending.
5. Note the multiples between two and nine.
Twos mean clever thinking is of paramount importance. Threes speak of infidelity or the need for cooperation. Fours guarantee stability, just as sixes do harmony. Fives and sevens spell difficult challenges, but eights and nines promise that the labor is almost over.
6. Regard the ruling colors.
A dominant black predicts burdens and hindrances. Red and yellow combined ensure passion, clarity and manifestation. Blue and white together advise that the solution can be found through spirituality and intuition.
7. Count the court cards.
Nine times out of ten, court cards are people, not influences. They are doing the manipulation or they need to be manipulated.
8. Notice the suits of the courts.
Wands and Swords are friendly. So are Cups and Pentacles. Any other combination spells rivalry and obstacles.
9. Watch where the cards are facing.
“Is the woman in The World looking at The Tower? A tragedy has to occur before success can take over. Is the King of Cups facing away from his Queen? Their relationship is suffering. His love for her has begun fading.”
10. Look at the bottom of the deck.
If the outcome is good, embodying this energy will make it even better. If the outcome is bad, this is the hidden connection that needs to be severed.
What to ask tarot
So tarot card questions are actually a lot different than asking a specific question. You wouldn’t say, for example, “Is my dad going to graduate?” because if you got the 3 of cups, you would be utterly confused as to why I did not provide a yes or a no. So below I am going to list questions that are good to ask the cards.
• I’m at a fork in the road. Which way should I go?
• How do I weigh out the choices I have? What are the Pros and Cons?
• What do I need to know to make the best decision? What do I need to know?
• What do I need to know about a situation with a family member?
• What do I need to know about my love life?
• What do I need to know about my career?
Moving forward
• How do I move forward in my career?
• How do I move forward in my relationship/ love life?
• What is coming forth in my life?
• Which foundation is the strongest to build on in my life?
* What should I do?
• What should/ shouldn’t I do about a situation with my job?
• What should/ shouldn’t I do about a situation with a friend or family member?
• How can I restore my hope for the future?
• What overall positives do I bring to my life?
• What positives do the people in my life provide me?
• Is there meaning in my life?
• Is there love in my life? Hidden Elements
• Are there things I am ignoring that are important?
• What am I not seeing?
• What is holding me back?
• Are there truths that I am denying?
• Are there things that I see that are untrue?
• What important things have I forgotten?
• What could get in my way?
• What is most important for me to get done?
• How will a certain occasion or event turn out?
• What will be the best way for me to communicate with certain people?
• What should I learn from my past?
• What is the impending future telling me?
• What cycles am I stuck in?
• What have a learned from my past?
• Where am I strongest?
• What should I look out for?
I hope this helps!!!!
This was the first method of sigil making I ever learned, from a post by @the-darkest-of-lights. I decided to make my own tutorial on it with my spare time. Happy sigil making! I’ll be making more of these on other methods of sigil making I think, because there’s so many different methods, and this was quite enjoyable to make. (I know that you can make sigils with the other various planetary numerology squares but honestly I still haven’t figured out how, I only know this one.)
Grounding
WHAT IS GROUNDING?
Grounding is a set of simple strategies to detach from emotional pain for example (cravings, self harm urges, emotional eating behaviour etc.) Grounding can also be a way of returning your attention to the outside world and away from yourself. In the case of dissociation.
WHY PRACTICE GROUNDING TECHNIQUES?
When you are overwhelmed with emotional pain, you need a way to detach so that you can gain control over your feelings and stay safe. As long as you are grounding, you are more likely to be able to overcome urges. Grounding ‘anchors’ you to reality.
Many people with PTSD and dissociative disorders struggle with either feeling too much (overwhelming emotions and memories) or too little (numbing and dissociation). In grounding, you attain balance between the two—conscious of reality and ability to tolerate it.
GUIDELINES:
§ Grounding can be done any time, anywhere and no one has to know.
· § Use grounding when you are: faced with a trigger, having a flashback or dissociating.
· § Keep your eyes open, look around the room, and make sure the light is good to stay in touch with the present.
· § Rate your mood before and after to test whether it worked. Before grounding, rate your level of
· § emotional pain, or your level of dissociation. Then re-rate it afterwards. Has it gone down?
· Try not to make judgements or think negatively. The idea is to distract from the negatives.
· § Stay neutral—no judgments of good or bad.
· § Focus on the present, not the past or future.
· § Grounding is much more active than relaxation exercises and focuses your attention.
Grounding is deemed to be a better way of coping with PTSD and dissociative disorders than relaxation practice. As during relaxation the focus is too much within the body, which at the worst may bring on flashbacks.
WAYS TO GROUND
MENTAL GROUNDING
o ♣ Describe to yourself in detail your surroundings: For example “The walls are white, there are three pink chairs and a blue sofa. There is a picture of a brown border collie on the wall with a gold frame around it.” You can do this out loud if appropriate, or in your head if you are in public.
o ♣ Play a game like “Scattergories” in your head or with a friend or family member. Choose a letter of the alphabet and try and come up with as many examples of a category you choose as you can. For example C … Boys names: Christopher, Curtis, Carl, Charles etc.
o ♣ Do an age progression. IThis can be particularly useful if you have dissociated or regressed to a younger alter or state. For example in my experiences I have an alter who is three. So I might say… Now I am four, I am at home with Mummy and Daddy and I can do (an example of an age appropriate activity) alone. Work your way up until you are back to your current age. This may not always work for little alters, but can help.
o ♣ Describe an everyday activity in great detail. For example if you like gardening “I open the shed door and pull out the lawn mower, I connect it to a power supply and climb on. I turn the key and put it into drive….”
o ♣ Imagine. For example make up a nice little story in your head, or out loud. “I am putting some roller skates on, and I am slowly gliding away from all my emotional suffering down a beautiful smooth lane, having fun listening to my favourite music LOUD!”
o ♣ Say a safety statement. ‘My name is _________; I am safe right now. I am in the present, not the past. I am in _____________ the date is _____________.
· ♣ Read something, saying each word to yourself. Or read each letter backwards so that you focus or the letters and not on the meaning of words.
· ♣ Use humour: For example have a “Funny Memory Bank” where you store up your favourite witty moments for those detached, rainy days.
· ♣ Count to 100 or say the alphabet very slowly or very fast.
· ♣ Repeat something meaningful to yourself, such as a prayer or quote. For example you could use the Serenity Prayer.
PHYSICAL GROUNDING
û Run cool or warm water over your hands.
û Grab tightly onto your chair as hard as you can.
· û Touch various objects around you: a pen. keys, your clothing, the table, the walls. Pay close attention to colours, weights, textures etc.
· û Firmly stamp your feet on the floor, literally grounding yourself. Feel the tension of your feet against the pressure of the floor.
· û Carry a ground object in your pocket—a small object such as a rock, stone, crystal, bead, piece of string or cloth, or a stress ball that you can touch whenever you feel triggered.
· û Jump up and down.
· û Stretch reach upwards and pull yourself tall. Extend your arms, legs, fingers and toes.
· û Walk slowly, noticing each footstep.
· û Eat something yummy. Notice the flavours, textures and feelings that come up for you.
SOOTHING GROUNDING
· ♥ Use Cheerleading statements, as if you were talking to a small child. For example “You are having a difficult time adjusting to these chanes, but you are doing so well. You should be proud of yourself.”
· ♥ Think of favorites. Think of your favorite color, animal, season, food, time of day, TV show.
· ♥ Picture people you care about. Even get a photobook made of positive pictures or pictures of people you love! Such a simple nice way to ground, and you can get A4 photo books at the moment from GroupOn for under £7!! (I in no way endorse them I just thought it was a good offer!)
· ♥ Remember the words to an inspiring song, quotation or poem that you like or feel positively about. Maybe write out the words and decorate it for your wall.
· ♥ Remember a safe place. Describe a place that you find very soothing it could be when you went on holiday to the beach, or walking in the woods. Or just a time you felt safe and peaceful at home in your living room or in bed.
· ♥ Plan out a safe treat for yourself, such as a trip to a coffee shop with a friend, making a nice dinner or a bath with some nice toiletries or candles if you feel safe to use them
· ♥ Think of things you are looking forward to in the next week. Perhaps schedule your time so you build some structure for chores and pleasurable activities. It can help to know what you are doing and also not just sit at home with nothing to do. This can cause difficulties.
WHAT IF GROUNDING DOESN’T WORK?
♠ Practice as often as possible. Even when you don’t feel overwhelmed or dissociative. This way it will come more naturally to you when you are struggling.
♠ Practice faster. Speeding up the pace gets you focused on the outside world quickly. ♠ Try grounding for a Ioooong time 20 mins at least, and then repeat !! ♠ Try to notice whether you do better with physical or mental or soothing grounding.
♠ Create your own methods of grounding. Any method you make up may be worth much more than those you read here because it is yours.
♠ Start grounding early in a negative mood cycle. Start when you begin to feel the early warning signs of dissociation or when you have just started having a flashback.
ELEMENTAL HOUSE CLEANSE
Fire - sit down and relax. Let pure universal energy enter through the top of your head and let it connect with your own life force. Once it’s connected and working together imagine a small flame spreading from the inside of you. It can start anywhere you’d like, the center of your stomach, your head, your palms, your legs, anywhere that feels comfortable. This is not a fire that destroys and burns, this is a pleasant fire that makes you feel loved and warm. Once you’ve set yourself on fire, once you’ve felt the flame all around and inside your body, slowly let it spread on the inside of your house. This can be done with a slow small flame, or a violent huge one. Just let everything burn, imagine the fires cleansing properties burning away all the nastiness inside your house. Imagine ashes flying everywhere, and all the negativity burning away into nothingness once it’s been touched by the flames.
Water - sit down and relax. Let pure universal energy enter through the top of your head and let it connect with your own life force. Once it’s connected and working together imagine yourself as a fluid body. See and feel the cool refreshing touch of water on your body. Feel the fluidity inside yourself. Then imagine huge water, huge waves, flooding your house, pushing everything it comes in contact with. Let it mess up your house. See this water, running from one door to another, flooding everything, and destroying everything just like a tsunami would. Imagine this pure, clean and clear water gathering all the negativity in itself, taking it away with her. When you’re done, imagine one window or more, or a door open in your house and let the water go away.
Earth - sit down and relax. Let pure universal energy enter through the top of your head and let it connect with your own life force. Once it’s connected and working together imagine huge roots bursting through your floor, intertwining all around your body. Once they’ve intertwined imagine them giving birth to flowers while all around you. Imagine these intertwined roots going all around the walls, the windows, your mirrors, your table, your bed. Imagine beautiful moist soil pouring out of the holes left by the roots. Imagine this soil filling up your house, gathering in itself all that is no longer needed and negative. Imagine transforming that negativity into something beautiful. Imagine the poisonous bad energies transforming into love and light inside the earth. Once they’ve transformed imagine this earth giving birth to more beautiful light green roots, leaves, and the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen. Let your whole house fill up with these beautiful flowers and roots, replenishing everything in your house. Feel the flowery scent all around you. When you’re done imagine all these roots and earth slowly going back into the whole where they came from, leaving everything intact but cleansed and fresh.
Air - sit down and relax. Let pure universal energy enter through the top of your head and let it connect with your own life force. Once it’s connected and working together imagine violent winds forcing their way in your house through the window. Imagine these winds entering and bursting through like a hurricane through your house. Even though they are violent, they are here to help and leave everything in a better place. They’re coming straight for you. They start whirling around you, you can feel it’s pleasant coolness on your skin. You can hear the sounds of the wind. They are so strong, yet so caring and pleasant. As they whirl harder and stronger around you, they lift you up in the air, whirling even harder than before. Now, imagine them turning to the rest of your house. Imagine them leaving a mess wherever they touch. All of your notebooks are in the air, your tarot cards are flying everywhere, your clothes go all around the place, your crystals fly from one wall to another. Let these fresh and cool winds clean your place. Once you’re done, imagine these winds leaving through the window they came from.
Sigil Crafting
Sigils were the first magic I ever learned. As an artist, symbolism and aesthetic are things that are incredibly important to me. I have used multiple ways of crafting sigils, but I have created my own personal way of creating sigils using a method writers have used in poetry- the stream of consciousness technique.
I put my pen to paper, call upon what I wish to make a sigil about, and let the pen create what I need.
These are the sigils that I use the most frequently (you may use them if you wish).
You may notice that my sigils in the form of arrows. Arrows are a symbolic representation of aiming and shooting for something, and I love the vertically long look because I like to draw these sigils on my forearms.
I created all of these with stream of consciousness drawing.
It is almost like a form of meditation for me. Allowing myself to simply create what I think “focus” or “protection” looks like visually makes the end results beautiful and meaningful for me.
I do have a few running themes. Here are a few symbols I love to throw in.
These are used a ton in my art.
So here is a step by step of what to do-
1. Clear your mind for meditation. (Tip- if you have crystals that symbolize your intent, surround yourself with them. And example would be having a rose quartz for love on you or near you.)
2. Put your writing utensil to your paper. (I recommend using paper before digital.) Have your energy flow from your body to the focus of the tip of the pen/pencil, repeating the intent you wish the sigil to have.
3. Make a first draft of your sigil by allowing your hand to simply move as you think of your intent.
4. Make as many reiterations you wish until you have something you feel satisfied with. (Editing is a big part of writing as well.)
5. After a few tries making different sigils, make a list of your own common symbols you see popping up in your sigils.
And there you have it. If you are not comfortable, try mixing this technique with others to find what works best for you, or simply only use other techniques and make sigil arrows. I think using the look of an abstract arrow helps with directing intentions.
You can also request a sigil from me if you so choose in my inbox, for I shall be making them for anyone who asks for free.
I hope you find yourself using this technique of stream of consciousness to create wonderful sigils.
Here’s my sigil making method! Enjoy!
