Winter trip planning started a week or so ago

For those looking into a cheap way to get traction on icy city streets (like in Hokkaido: Sapporo, Niseko, Otaru, etc.), recommending Yaktrax 👌🏻

Late post or so but PSA too… these are only USD$25 but gives you peace of mind that you’ll be okay going up/down crazy inclined, icy or black-iced streets. It’s also automatic for packed snow trails.

Not to mention, your boots or sneakers don’t get F’d up. I can say they got the job done without messing up these Reds during our trip earlier this year. They’re also easy to put on (probably just need a stable seat at least).

I literally own a two hats I modified like this, and I have a whole board full of velcro patches stuck on my wall. Everything from "I ❤️ cannibalism" & satanic symbols to a very normal pretty patch celebrating the city I live in, or one of those mass-produced NASA patches.

You can and should modify your clothes, velcro patches are excellent because you can switch em depending on the outfit, event, etc. I've done this to the hat I wear every day because I like options but didn't want to own 20 different hats.
