RACISM CONFIRMED

A "stylistic choice" does not give you blanket permission to depict a Native American character portrayed by a Mexican-American actor as white.

There are literally darker shades in your "limited color palette" that you could have used for his skin, and chose not to.

Does white skin look prettier to you? Is it more appealing to your eye??

Sickening tbh. It is time you examine your biases.

You are the problem. You made him white. You made a brown man white. This is racist. You are participating in racist behavior.

In My Defense

I believe it is wiser for you to kindly approach and let me know what I do wrong before jumping into conclusion that I am a racist. Okay, let's answer you concerns one at a time.

I think it is better to kindly let me know what did I do wrong. I am not from the US, I am Southeast Asian and I might not know and familiar with what considered as racist on this site. I try my best to self educate myself, but the way you tell me what is wrong with my art and jumping into conclusion that I am racist without looking through my background is baffling. I am genuinely clueless, so I think next time you want to correct people do it kindly and don't jump into conclusion fast.

Does white skin looks prettier to me? No, that is not true. I've drawn Chakotay multiple times and I always give him his actual skin color. I think you haven't seen my other Chakotay art prior to this one. The white skin tone on that particular art doesn't represent any skin color but more of a negative space as in design theory. It's simply a blank space in contrast to the colors around it. I didn't know if that could be received in a different way from what I was intended, which I do not intend to whitewash his skin. If you were kind enough to reach me out and politely tell me what did I do wrong and what could I improve, that would be wonderful since again I am not from the US and I may not know or familiar with what's considered racist. It would be wonderful if people do wanna educate me in a good faith.
