anyway in the world when we get Infinite DS9 a plotline i would do is is that the changeling virus doesn't get stopped in time and every shapeshifter dies. and the jem'hadar and the vorta just keep going, because it's not like death of a god ever stopped a religion happening. just sort of adds to their mythology. they believe the founders will come back. the death toll is bigger than anyone thought it would be. earth explodes. narratively the moral downfall of julian bashir and the myth of nice starfleet that dies in him and us is already payment for the virus but i also want to see earth explode so for me this would be fanservice

Culluh liked it when she came back dirty.
Sure, he had to pretend that he didn't enjoy it because a woman's place was in subservience—tending to her husband, father, or tribe, or whatever Ferengi-like bullshit the Kazon liked to believe—but Culluh liked it when she was covered in blood and guts and filth. He liked how efficient she was with her work.
He liked it a little too much.
In front of his men he was the perfect leader; condescending and insulting, treating her like a riding hound that needed to be sprayed down with a hose when she came back covered in evidence from one of their clandestine missions. This superiority complex was often met with his favorite, sickly sweet, "Yes, Maje," chirping like birdsong from Seska's silver-tipped tongue.
In private though, once the doors closed, he couldn't get enough. The more blood she had on her hands, body, and face, the more it excited him. She had stopped bathing entirely on her solo missions just so that she could have this adrenaline rush whenever she returned to the Nistrim ship.
Culluh reveled in putrid stench, just like his people.
The increased attraction did make Seska wonder about him as they wrestled for dominance in his quarters; a fight that she would always let him win when he began to tire, as to not damage his ego.
Had Culluh's mother been stronger than his father? More in control? More conniving? More self-assured? Would she have been fit for life on Cardassia Prime?
Clothes ripped as they slammed around the room. Teeth sunk into flesh. Furniture suffered casualties. He started licking the dried, sticky blood off her fingers. Seska watched him, excited that he could appreciate all the hard work she put into making sure his people didn't die from being such idiots.
Did Culluh loathe the company of the women his tribe had to offer? Is that why he couldn't get enough of her 'exotic' nature?
He ripped open her shirt and leaned in close to take a deep inhale through the nose. She wondered if she smelled the burnt flesh from the man she had been torturing, or the accelerant she'd poured on the lesser soul before lighting the match and walking away to the melody of his screams.
She shoved Culluh hard enough that he tripped backward over the pants wrapped around his ankles, right onto his ass, and pulled the knife from her belt as she leapt on top of him. The blade glistened under his freshly shaven jaw. Seska enjoyed the uncertainty in his eyes for a long, savory moment. Then she smiled, laughed, and threw the knife aside.
These people would never accept her as their leader. They were too archaic. Too simple. Culluh worked better as a pawn than he would a martyr.
Did Culluh glance at his fellow shipmates and wish he could take one of them to bed? Is that why he liked her, for her perceived 'masculine' qualities?
She kissed him and wished she could put a bag over his head and pretend he was Chakotay, but instead she let him roll on top top pin her to the deck plating and whispered into his ear with all the fake femininity the Obsidian Order had taught her years ago.
If Admiral Janeway really and truly wanted to get her crew home as quickly as possible and was dead-set on using time travel to do it, I’d like to rationalize why she chose Endgame.
Voyager had many close calls with the Alpha Quadrant, but most were false opportunities or misunderstandings. (The micro wormhole across time, the telepathic pitcher plant, the planet whose mantle allowed long range transport). One that absolutely was NOT a false opportunity or misunderstanding was the episode “False Profits” in season 3. The wormhole was undeniably to the Alpha Quadrant, and the issue was that the escaped Ferengi collapsed it before Voyager could enter it.
If Admiral Janeway were just looking for the fastest way home, the most elegant solution would have been to return to this episode and lay some extra smackdown on the Ferengi to render them unable to escape to their shuttle, and they would never emit the graviton pulse that destabilized the wormhole. Instead, she elected for maximum smackdown on the Borg transwarp hub. Handwaving away that if she came back to season 3, the rest of the show would not have happened, here’s my list of reasons why she wouldn’t do that:
1. False Profits took place in 2373. The Dominion War ended in 2375. To prevent her Maquis crew from being slaughtered and her Starfleet crew from being sent to the front lines and also likely decimated, they should come back after the end of the war.
2. Seven of Nine had not yet been freed from the Collective. She personally faced off against the Borg for Seven too many times to never save her. (Also, choose your flavor of Captain/mentor/lover/mother, but Admiral Janeway came back after Seven becoming her own person and before Seven marrying Chakotay for a REASON.)
3. Admiral Janeway’s journey was motivated by a great deal of self-loathing and guilt. To avoid Time Police prosecution, or worse, someone ‘correcting’ her timeline, a suicide mission was always going to be ideal for her.
4. Destroying the transwarp hub also destroyed an outlet that was in the heart of the Federation and certainly would have been the next catastrophe after the Dominion War if the Borg had popped out right outside Earth. She crippled the Borg’s expansion into the Alpha Quadrant and could justify that action by saving billions of lives.
5. personal vendetta against the Borg Queen. What a move, to tenderly look into your deepest enemy’s eyes as she assimilates you and then you both blow up. Stunning. No notes.
Was any of this considered in the show? Likely not. Do I hold it as interpretation so I don’t start ranting about Endgame? Most certainly.
