It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity.

"What? Learn sign? I'd be a true asshole if I didn't at least try, right?" He chuckled while assuring her, pecking her nose, "I figure i had to learn English as a kid and figured it out just fine, whats one more language? Can't be more confusing than having a Spanish speaking father and a Portuguese speaking mother."
Giving her butt a few gentle pats, he pulled back, "Go get your itty bitty teeny weeny polka dot bikini on while I go pack the car. Oh, and do me a favor and rub puppy sunscreen on the girls. Their short coats make it easy for them to burn." He hummed, "Its under the sink." He instructed before grabbing his keys off the wall.
Oh.
Poppy's not sure she's ever had someone go to that length for her before. Not someone who was interested in her romantically, at least.
I can send you some of the stuff I used, when I learnt. After all, ASL is her third language - she had to pick it up when she came to the States, and she still has all of her resources.
When Cas sends her off, though, Poppy blows him a kiss in lieu of a proper answer, trotting up the stairs to do as he's asked. She starts with her bikini, figuring the puppy sunscreen will last longer if she does it closer to when they leave - though, it ends up as a giant petting session since the girls don't exactly recognise her sign for sit. Eventually, though, both the girls are slathered and ready to leave - Poppy tucking their sunscreen into her bag just in case they need a top-up while they're out.
Throwing together a few sandwiches, some drinks and some chow for the pups, Cas packed up the car before heading back inside and trotting up the stairs to put himself in a pair of swimming trunks.
His focus was derailed upon seeing Poppy in her bikini being swarmed by the two dogs who clearly thought that sunscreen time was just a petting session.
Unable to stifle his laughter, Cas approached and gently caught Poppy by the chin to turn her face toward him and peck her lips. "A little trick, if you want them to sit, you can basically just shove their butts towards the floor and they'll get the idea." He explained, crouching down to plant his hands on Zoe's backside, gently pushing her down until she eventually got the point and plopped into a seat position, her tail thumping on the floor.
Continuing to laugh, Caspian moved to rummage through one of her drawers for some shorts before slipping out of his pajamas and shoving them on. "I packed some sparkling wine in case you wanted a little bubbly treat during our beach outing."
"Maybe you make me a softie, it's those puppy eyes. I'm a sucker for them." A grin and a little push at her shoulder before he took a sip of his coffee.
Setting the mug down on an opposite counter, he moved around to slip himself between her legs and wrapped his arms around her waist, "I'm ganna learn sign language just so I can tell you my dinner was dry and unflavorful." He revised his plan with a soft laugh, pecking her lips.
"And then when you start signing back I'm ganna tell you I don't speak sign language." He continued to poke fun, grinning childishly.
Poppy simply grins, batting those same eyes at him as she watches him move around - opening her knees slightly to make more room for him to stand.
For a second, there's no response from her as she simply enjoys being wrapped up like this, her own arms around his shoulders - but after a moment, she pulls away to be able to write.
Would you really? Learn sign language, she means - though for more than just the purposes of arguing with her. There's only a second before she's huffing out another laugh at his words, though.
Maybe I'll start speaking Irish. Where would you be then?

"Hey, hey, hey. I'm not just a piece of meat, I'll have you know." He teased her, knocking her shoulder as he brushed past to grab his cup of coffee. "I like to make a woman feel special, what can I say? Gatta keep up the act that I'm a good, loving husband, right?" A cheeky smirk adorned his face as he leaned on the counter top.
"We'll have to argue in public at some point, though. Or people might suspect somethings up. Maybe I'll tell you my dinner was dry and unflavorful."
I like that. Like that you listened to your mother.
Poppy cleans her dishes before propping herself up to sit on the counter and watch him. It's a little more awkward to write in her notebook like this, but she's suffered through worse.
Besides, this way she gets to be relatively eye level with him, especially as he leans against the counter.
Is it an act? I think you're just a softie. This is coupled with the younger poking out her tongue at him. But also, you know that if we argue in public it will sound just like you're yelling AT me. I don't think it's going to have the effect that you think it will.

"Downstairs, doll. I'll eat after my shower." He called back to her in passing. Cas wasn't long in the shower, maybe fifteen or twenty minutes before he stepped out with a towel wrapped around his waist. His hair was tosled and damp, the daylight accentuating the littering of scars across his toned chest. Along with the family crest etched in ink over his heart.
"Am I a good cook? Not as good as you, for sure. But I like to think I get the job done." He admonished, giving himself a pat on the back before moving to his dresser to grab a pair of boxers and slide them on.
"I figure we could take the girls out by the water, have a little beach day? Phia loves to s w i m." He spelled out the word, looking over at the pitty who looked back at him and tilted her head curiously. Cas chuckled and stepped over to scratch under her chin. "Could pick up some lunch, pack it, bring a blanket and such. Make a whole thing?"
Satisfied with that - and unable to answer him now that he was in another room anyway - Poppy contents herself with eating her breakfast. She's scooping up the last of the eggs when Cas returns.
You did well, Poppy puts down her fork to answer him. This was perfect, especially since I threw it at you last-minute.
She listens with interest to his suggestions for their day - and before he even finishes Poppy is nodding her head yes. The idea of getting out of this house is perfect, and she's always loved the beach.
That sounds amazing, Poppy agrees. Gives me an excuse to ogle you all day. You gonna rub sunscreen on my shoulders? She's teasing, finishing the last of her breakfast and standing with the plates to accompany him downstairs so that she can do the dishes. She has to set them down to make another comment. Who knew you were such a romantic?

Cas wasn't 100% sure what she had signed, but if it was the same as the thing he'd done as a kid, it meant "I love you". Which, made his heart flutter at the mere implication. But he figured it was best not to look too deep into it, and stored it in the back of his mind.
After a small while, Zoe and Phia came trotting back into the bedroom with their morning dried jerky in their chompers, hopping up onto their respective corners of the bed to enjoy their own breakfast treat.
Cas was not long after with a plate of scrambled eggs and French toast, along with a mug filled with a freshly brewed cafecito, just like mama made.
Setting everything down on the nightstand beside her, he leaned over to kiss her forehead, "Now that all my girls are fed, I think I've earned a shower, no?" He teased, stepping away to head for the bathroom. "Try not to miss me too much."
The dogs return, and Poppy makes kissy faces at them when they settle - looking up with a smile when Cas returns, but faltering when she sees only one of everything.
Where's yours? she scribbles quickly, tapping the notebook before he can depart completely. He didn't make food just for her, did he?
Either way, she's not going to let it go to waste - letting out a small huff before shuffling closer to the nightstand to sip at the cafecito first, humming as the warm liquid hits her tongue. He joked about her not missing him too much - and while she doesn't, it is nice to know that he's nearby - especially given their circumstances. Poppy can hear the shower running, and relaxes, a little, knowing he'll be back in a second.

It felt so right now, being together like they were after so many years apart. Maybe they had needed the time separated to grow, to experience, to learn. Somehow it felt like they had never left one and other, while also feeling like something so very new.
But Salo was certain his feelings for Tate had never left. "Having you all to myself... no distractions, cuddled up by a fire. Sounds like heaven."
"Only party lights." Tate teases, winding his arms around Salo's shoulders. He feels so comfortable here - even though years had passed between when they knew each other last and now, it almost feels like no time has passed at all. Things have changed, of course, but the core of themselves is still the same.
"I think so. You've still got that car with the tinted windows, right? If we get in it in the parking garage, no one will know it's both of us in there."
He pauses for another kiss.
"Think of all the mischief we can get up to all cuddled up by a fire." This kiss lands closer to Salo's throat. "Just you and me in nature? Perfect."
"Of course. I can't stand driving in a fishbowl." He snickered, "Last thing I want is people gawking at me. I mean, unless it's you. Then stare all you like." He corrected himself with a shrug of his shoulders.
Salo hummed into the kiss, resting his chin against Tate's chest to gaze up at him, "I can think of plenty of devious things to do alone in the woods." He assured, chuckling as his partner trailed his lips down his throat.
"You trying to start something before we even get there?" He teased, giving a taunting wind of his hips against Tate's.
"Oh, were really pushing the princess privledges here, aren't we?" He snickered hearing her request breakfast in bed. "I figure you've earned some spoiling. Even if you and my dogs have been colluding against me." He continued to tease, pressing a smack of a kiss against her cheek before pulling back the covers to get himself up.
Cas rummaged around for his joggers and shoved them back on, "C'mon, girls. Let's go make make the princess breakfast." He called to his babies, who excitedly got themselves up and followed behind as he headed for the door.
"Dont have too much fun without me." He called to Poppy, shooting her a wink before heading out.
Poppy flutters her fingers under her chin with an innocent face as if to say yes, very much so. She grins as he kisses her cheek, and this time makes no secret of the way she watches as he steps out of bed naked to find something to wear. She'd been too shy to really appreciate him last night, but this morning she was going to take it all in.
Cas shoots her a wink as he leaves, and Poppy makes the sign for I love you as he goes. She means it a little more casually than as a formal declaration - and she figures he won't know what it means anyway.

Why do we need to get up? She shifts, remembers that she's not exactly clean after their night. Shower, maybe. And breakfast. Another cheeky smile - Are you going to make me breakfast in bed?
Really pushing her luck there, since Poppy was normally the one who cooked.

Reading what she'd written after the beat of silence, he hummed reaching up to stroke his thumb over her cheek, "What can I say? You bat those eyelashes and my heart melts." A truthful sentiment, Cas leaned in to kiss her lips once more, soft and tender.
When he pulled back, he rested his forehead against hers and chuckled beneath his breath, "I'm still convinced you plotted with my dogs, though. Don't think you're off the hook for that."
Poppy wheezes a laugh, unable to hide her mirth even in the face of his pretend scolding. She knows there's not really that much of an age difference between them, and that he's lived a much more physical life than she has.
There's no denying that it's fun to tease him though.
She is subdued, slightly, when he brushes her cheek and talks about his heart melting - the skin under his thumb turning pink at the thought of it.
Me too, she mouths, not wanting to break eye contact to write it down, before smiling into the kiss - propping up on an elbow to look at the dogs at the end of the bed with a raised eyebrow.
There was no collusion here. The girls can't understand me, you know that. I thought they brought me in here because you were in trouble.

Salo bursted into laughter watching Tate try to wrack his brain on whether or not they'd gone to the forest together. Which, of course they had. Plenty of times. It was Salomao's refuge and Tate was his home. Naturally, he brought them together.
"You sure about that? What did we do in the woods, huh?" He tested the other teasingly, resting his hands on his hips as he straddled him, humming into the kiss. "I think it's time we took a camping trip out there. I know this one clearing next to a natural spring. Would be a great way to get away from all the media for a bit."
"Maybe I've been hit in the head one too many times." Tate jokes, leaning heavily against Salo so that he can kiss him again. "We should be glad that I still have all of my teeth, huh?"
The suggestion of a camping trip has Tate grinning. He loves his job, and he loves his apartment in the city, but any chance to be out in the open is a welcome one. "I think that's a great idea. When can we do it, do you think? We're not playing next week, but are you?"
"You got any lights still on up there?" He teased with a wry grin, chuckling into the kiss his partner proffered him, smoothing his hands along the small of his back and giving a taunting grind upwards.

Poppy's probably being too clingy. She's never done this before - and even as she presses another kiss to his shoulder, enjoying the weight of his hand at her side, she wonders if she should put a little bit of distance between them.
She doesn't want to, is the thing.

"You've taken me to the woods." He confirms, almost daring the other to argue, before pressing a kiss to the other man's lips. "I must love you very much."

Which was not an actual answer. The answer was that she was definitely sore, but in a good way. In a way that she kind of wanted to sink into, and do again.
A soft hum leaves her throat - a vocalisation only he's privy too, as Poppy stretches languidly.

I don't want to go anywhere either. There's nowhere I'd rather be.
