Imagine a Zayne that didn't leave Linkon. Imagine making intern Zayne blush. IMAGINE THAT!!!! Also, the fact that he wouldn't be as in control of his emotions as he is at 27-28 (when he's already a full time doctor and has went through hundreds of operations and difficult situations). No, during his intern years (especially the first two) he's just learning how to properly school his behavior and facial expressions in front of patients. Many times in the main story and in his cards, he gives clues that he has learnt how to seem cold against the harshest truths of a medical report.
He's learnt how to be like that. Life and his work field have shaped him like that. Which means during his intern years he's a bit messier. Just slightly, just enough for a teenage + adult personality to blend into one. Also he has graduated early so imagine he's probably the youngest intern that hospital has at that time. There are people who don't expect everything out of him (he's the youngest, younger than anything they've seen as an intern, so some doctors and nurses might even be soft with him, while others are just straight up bitches — there are all kinds of people in a hospital after all). And still, he pushes himself until he breaks. And even then, he doesn't allow himself to actually break, he doesn't let himself breathe for a single second.
HE'D BE LIKE A SHY KITTEN IF YOU PRESS HIS BUTTONS RIGHT. Messing with him would be so fun oh my god. Imagine having the time of your life because he responds so shocked and flabbergasted at every teasing (bordering on flirting) remark he receives from you.
His messier life style. At 27 at least he had learnt how to work with his own schedule, in a way, even if not fully yet. He's better at managing his time (proof of that: the dates he has with mc, his workout sessions, his lectures as a professor, free time he's using in his own way). He's not as bad at that as before; but imagine a 20 y/o sleep deprived Zayne who's still learning how to work properly with 4 hours of sleep only. And you're there, in between the teasing, shoving a filled lunchbox in his hands because "when have you eaten last, Zayne? Oh, and don't you dare mention the hospital food."
