Beautiful Boy (2019)

Directed Felix Van Groeningen is the real-life portrayal of a father (Steve Carell) and son’s (Timothee Chalamet) descent into hell. Whose relationship becomes damaged as a result of Nic becoming addicted to hard drugs, mainly crystal meth. The film follows David struggling with how and if he can help his son, and it highlights Nic’s journey as he goes in and out of rehab and attempts to get his life on track. Film does not provide concrete direction for those struggling with drug addiction in their lives or the lives of loved ones.
