Tobias Menzies as Black Jack Randall and Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser “We are playing more of [the Battle of Culloden] out on camera,” says executive producer Ronald. D. Moore. “It just felt like we have been promising it for a while. We should give the audience some sense of what happened on that moor.”
Tobias Menzies as Black Jack Randall “Tobias [Menzies] and I love doing the battle scenes,” says Sam Heughan. “It felt very intense, very emotional for both characters. Something they both have been seeking.”
Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser “It felt like everyone was really desperate to get into this battle,” says Heughan. “This is a big part of our culture and our history.”
Caitriona Balfe as Claire Randall “For the first few episodes, we’re going to show the parallel journeys that Jamie and Claire took during their 20 years apart from one another,” explains Caitriona Balfe.
Did you hear the prayer circle in hopes that conspiracy #34 is the one that sticks *lol*. They better hope that the anons stop pointing out the flaws it has. Too bad Maril sunk their casting hopes.
I don’t even know which conspiracy they’re on right now. I saw that Sam is announcing something “exciting” and that got them squeeing, but not everybody thinks it’s wifey related now (finally). I don’t think all of the extreme shippers have given up that the Divine Miss MM is not cast on the show. They’ve got a whole lot of hope in that clubhouse of theirs.
I sincerely hope the anon is kidding. Given all the things to pray for in the world, if extreme shippers are choosing to take time to pray that a SamCait conspiracy to be true, well…I have no words.
Damn! I just gave myself a migraine from rolling my eyes. Maybe super shippers should be praying for God to give them more important to focus on in their lives.

Remember the adorable Fergus, who played the pickpocketing French kid taken in by Jamie and Claire in season 2 of Outlander? Good news, fans: the character will be back when the drama returns for a third season on Starz — and he’ll be a grown-up! EW has learned exclusively that César Domboy (The Walk) will take over the role when the story jumps ahead two decades in the new season.
Could this be adult Fergus? César Domboy
Googled him & I can see it. Still looks very young to be playing 30 though.

[ew_brightcove videoid="5146738201001" pushTop autoPlay] En garde, Outlander fans: When the time-traveling series (and recipient of EW’s Poppy Award for Best Drama!) returns for a third season on Starz next year, the action will begin with the historic Battle of Culloden – a significant departure from the start of Voyager, the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s book series from which season 3 is based.
Trump says tax evasion is ‘smart’
That’s a crime. Why is he not in jail. They got al Capone for tax evasion. Why is Trump still not in handcuffs
What’s going on
Donald Trump’s sexism was the most revealing part of the first debate
Monday’s debate hit a lot of issues, but it was Trump’s sexism that left perhaps the most indelible mark, as the Republican patronized, interrupted and demeaned Clinton — and other women — throughout the 90 minutes. Clinton received cheers from the audience with her response to Trump’s above comment about “stamina.”
The vice president went after the GOP nominee's admission that he was hoping for a collapse in the housing market because it's "good business."
Joe Biden is right!
That is a great speech, a must watch. Loved his line about having moral centers.
I don't know if you've been asked this before but do you think Jamie would've still managed to send Claire back to the future if she weren't pregnant? I know she would've fought going but do you think he would have still done it somehow
No - because without the unborn child, at this point neither Claire nor Jamie has anything to lose. Except each other, of course - and should they lose each other on the battlefield, then no matter.
Because nobody, and nothing, would keep them apart. Except, of course, the child they had so desperately longed for. Who, ironically, eventually brings them back to each other.
I don’t agree.
He made her swear she would before she was pregnant (well, technically she was pregnant with Faith at the time he first made her swear, but not Brianna), it was the entire reason why he agreed not to kill BJR back in Paris initially. He wanted her to have a place to go if they failed in stopping Culloden and back to someone who loved her.
Claire being pregnant was just the catalyst in which he convinced and forced her to actually go, that their child was his/their legacy and would be all that there was left of him. She still didn’t want to go even with that argument. Without it, even if he had forced her through the stones she would have come straight back.
So would Jamie have definitely wanted her to keep her word and go? Yes. Would Claire have actually fulfilled his last wish and gone if she hadn’t been pregnant? No.
If it were only about staying together with nothing to lose then they would have both gone into hiding together and eventually left Scotland. Jamie knew his destiny and fate lay on Culloden Moor and that as long as Claire (and now their child) was safe, he could die in peace. To have her stay and either die in the battle bloody herself, or starve and live in destitute without him after the war if she had survived was the last thing he wanted. He had a way to save HER. Even if she hadn’t been pregnant he still would have wanted her to go. But knowing Claire, she wouldn’t have done it.
Diana says Season 3 will reveal story details that haven’t been published in the books yet
In a post Sunday on CompuServe, Diana Gabaldon said that Season 3 of Outlander will depict exactly what happened between Jamie and Black Jack Randall during the Battle of Culloden.
She said that the scene, which appears in the first episode of Season 3, is “not nearly as messy and violent and grunting and confused as the real thing, but neither is it a sell-out or betrayal of What Really Happened.”
Diana said that she wanted to “put it on record” that she had written the scene before it was adapted for TV.
Oh, also she says that we won’t get Book 9 before Season 3 comes out, which I know most people were assuming would be the case but I was holding out hope! ;)
I am not surprised. Some of what she writes seems to unfold slowly, through Jamie and Claire’s conversations. It is works well for books, but doesn’t seem that practical for a show. Especially one that spans so many years in between. Thanks, @cabochonruby for pointing this out. I seldom look there, unless a Google search takes me there.
S-Shippers Who Don’t Seem to Fully Understand LGBTQIA Issues Should Be a Bit More Careful About Their Assumptions (and they should have read the full post before they commented)
I got an “ask” today saying that some s-shippers were starting rumors that Tony is gay again. I reblogged a POST I wrote a while back because s-shippers have resorted to spreading this false rumor unfortunately many times in the past.
Long story short, Trish and her anon, in their attempt to defend spreading false rumors about Tony’s sexuality to keep the ship afloat took a comment I wrote quickly (when I reblogged the post) out of context of the larger post (which somehow I doubt they read) and pretty much accused me of being homophobic. Given that just a few days ago Jess felt harassed because someone implied in a post she was promoting white supremacism, should I be just as up in arms at this implication? Probably, but given who I am and what I have done in my life it just makes me laugh.
You see Trish, I’m bisexual. Yes, I’ve been in a monogamous relationship with my husband for nearly three decades but that doesn’t stop me from being bisexual. Most bisexual folks ultimately choose to settle down with someone with whom they express one aspect of their sexuality–but that doesn’t make the other aspect “go away.”
So at times I have been active in the LGBTQIA community, and I work with LGBTQIA issues all the time with students.
I don’t think there is anything shameful with being any variety of sexual orientation; consequently, I don’t think there would be anything shameful for Tony if he were gay. Which he isn’t because he really is in a romantic relationship with Cait even if you don’t want to accept that. (That doesn’t mean he couldn’t be bisexual, just that he isn’t gay.)
Obviously you and your anon were only interested in getting something from my post that you could take out of context and get upset about. This is ironic because you just did what Jess accused NSTs of doing in a recent rant against us:
“You are choosing to stalk our blogs to find something to get mad at and then you proceed to throw a tantrum over it.”
Jess called that behavior “not normal.” Oh the irony!
Anyway, if you had bothered to read my post you would have known that I said that even if it turned out that Tony was gay and s-shippers had evidence of his being so, “unless Tony is ‘out’ in my opinion it is not okay to spread rumors about his sexual orientation on social media.”
You see I have worked with young people for decades now on the very difficult process of coming out in a homophobic society. Having done so, I know that this is a very private thing that each person must do for themselves. No one has the right to “out” anyone else.
And although attitudes towards the LGBTQIA community have changed dramatically since I was a kid, I also know there is a lot of homophobia still out there. You would not believe the things some of my clients’ parents and relatives have said to them when they came out IN TODAY’S SOCIETY. And these are the people who supposedly love them.
Outing someone who is gay or spreading rumors that someone is gay who is not can still have many ramifications in today’s society. That doesn’t mean that being gay is “shameful” it means its a terrible shame that some people in this day and age still hold real prejudices against people because of their sexual orientation–and those prejudices can result in negative consequences for people who are outed or who have untrue rumors about their sexual orientation spread about them on social media.
You have no idea what could happen when you spread those kinds of rumors on social media in societies that are still homophobic (which is still probably all or nearly all societies). For instance, in the case that was discussed in an article I will be referring to under the cut, the plaintiff filed a lawsuit because a straight woman spread a false rumor that a man was gay because she wanted his girlfriend to break up with him. The rumor in fact ended up destroying the relationship. Spreading such rumors to keep a sunk ship afloat seems to me to be one of the least acceptable reasons for doing so.

@contemplatingoutlander is amazing. Trish and her fake anons are garbage. And the last few sentences here really says it all.
Why exactly would ANYONE post things on a public blog, a blog that they contend is a fan blog, that they wouldn’t say to Sam or Cait face or direct to them on SM? Are these SamCait Tinhat-Shippers ashamed of their beliefs about Tony, MM, etc? If they aren’t ashamed because they KNOW they are wrong are they just afraid because they KNOW they will be blocked for it? Cowards!
Spin. Lie. Deflect. Nothing ever changes except the depths of these S-Shipper’s depravity and denial.
OWN. YOUR. SHIT.
If you can’t own your blog and your beliefs, then maybe it’s time for a little soul searching into exactly why that is.
Reblogging because @cinjudes does it again, and so beautifully direct. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks @aliceinoutlanerland but I’m so far out of this shit I can really only comment on the big picture that seriously NEVER CHANGES.
Major props right now go to @contemplatingoutlander who is the real hero here. She never stops being the voice of reason and sanity and courage in the face of all of the lies and hate these pathetic anti-fans dish at her. Much love for CO!

Or Cause ONE DAY it might sink in if we do!
Time to reblog the truth!
Reblog and reblog
Just seemed like a good thing to reblog today
Yup. Not together. Cait said she is seeing someone. T is not her assistant. 2 journalist said he was her boyfriend.
