frodo getting criticized for decades for not doing much / not being a hero compared to sam is fitting when you consider mental health and strength is often trivialized. frodo carried the most dangerous and insidious item in middle earth for YEARS. ancient beings (elves, gandalf, etc) were taunted and tempted by it. boromir was corrupted within weeks without even touching it. men and hobbits turned against their brethren for it. killed for it. and frodo, with a wound from a morgul knife, bore it’s weight when no one else could. had it been anyone else, middle earth would have fallen.

no, he couldn’t have done it without his samwise. but isn’t that a lesson in itself?

People keep saying "F Trump but happy fourth of July" but...Trump *is* America... America is a nation built on the still-twitching corpse of a beautiful people who were ethnically cleansed and almost pushed to extinction. It was built on the blood and bones of innocent men, women, and children. I can't imagine what kind of a nightmare this all must be for the indiginous people. Their dna still carries the trauma of all the horrible acts committed upon them and their ancestors.

I honestly do not struggle with understanding how hellish this country is. We will never know anything but misfortune because we are cursed. This land is cursed, everything that grows on this land is cursed, everything that lives and breathes on this land is cursed because you cannot build a home on top of the grave of whom you murdered. You cannot move past what has been done without mending the damage you caused, especially while you benefit from it.

Your ancestors did atrocious things. Your ancestors committed terrible crimes. And they did. Not. Pay. Someone *must*.

we seriously need to stop conceding to the personhood trap when it comes to abortion rights. is a fetus a person? thats a spiritual question. i dont care about the answer. should another person dictate what someone can do with their body? simple answer: no.

like if a fetus isnt a person it has no right to my body and if a fetus IS a peson it also has no right to my body because there is no other context in which we are required to put ourselves at risk of physical harm to preserve another persons safety or even life.

you dont have to save someone from drowning even if youre a strong swimmer. even in death youre not required to donate organs and that could save several people. you can kill someone if you truly believe your safety is at risk. we dont mandate preservation of life over autonomy in any of these circumstances.
