Hi, i was curious about your bitty au and since it seems like you dont get huge amounts of traffic i'd drop a few asks into your askbox before i get off tumblr for the week, my first question is is your adoptions policy an open 'anyone can have a bitty, you dont have to ask, but you can if you want,' or an exclusive 'if you want a bitty you have to ask for one' ive seen some bitty places use the latter, but most seem to use the former,
how do gem packs interact with owners? will the pack have the owner be like a member of the pack? or would it be more like a colony of gems living in the owners house? maybe it varies. in the case of the owner being a pack member, would they be fitted into a rank like leader or caretaker, or have a unique ‘owner’ rank that encompasses those roles (2/4)
with your gembitties, are there specific gem types or pack ranks well suited to service-bitty roles? helping with anxiety and depression and other such stuff (¾)
also can i say i really like your stuff and i have for a while i just dont talk to people much online, one last question before i head to bed, i noticed on your gem batch posts listings of difficulty?beginner intermediate and professional? is it alright if i ask what that means in this context, since gems dont really need to eat, or get sick. i assume it relates to temperament? Anyone can have a bitty, and I would really prefer it if y’all would ask but I’m not going to start any fights if you just create one.
A pack of bitties will usually refer to their owner as their Alpha, with an alpha type bitty being in charge if their owner has to leave them for any reason, but it also depends on the “difficulty” of the bitty. A Beginner Alpha type bitty is pretty laidback and chill with following, but an Intermediate might put up a fight, usually just for show, and a “Professional” type bitty will put up a legitimate fight and will take a lot longer to trust their owner.
They will usually give their owner a ranking and that will absolutely depend on how the owner interacts with the pack.
As for service bittys, I think an Omega-Alpha pairing would work best as the Omegas prefer to help out their pack and tend to be on the coddling side, and an Alpha will push their owner to try their best but will also keep an eye on them to make sure that they don’t do anything they can’t handle.
And yes! That absolutely refers to temperament and how quickly they’ll accept you into their pack. I say “professional” for some of them because those are the hardest ones that take the longest to open up, but if you already have a pack, they tend to open up a little quicker as you have proven that you can provide an adequate territory and the patience to deal with a group.
