Trump only writes the angry tweets, the nice ones are written by a staffer with an Iphone
On August 6, artist Todd Vaziri observed that all of Trump’s angry tweets come from the Twitter client for Android, while the more presidential, less batshit ones come from an Iphone; Vaziri speculated that the latter were sent by a staffer.
Now, David Robinson’s textual analysis of the two different corpuses show that different people are behind each client’s tweets – they tweet at different times, using different syntax and vocabulary, and they use different hashtags and use them differently.

Here, I blew this. She [Amanda Tapping] actually sank all four balls on that, and I shot it bad. I didn’t set the camera up high enough, and the shot that was supposed to show us [Sam’s shot] didn’t. But you have to know that Amanda actually … on the rehearsal for that [scene], I bet her a hundred dollars, that she couldn’t sink it. And she did it in the rehearsal. And I rolled camera, and I bet her another hundred bucks that she couldn’t do it again. And she sank it again. Martin Wood, Upgrades audio commentary

A few things you need to know about this hot coffee case:
It wasn’t an issue of the coffee being because no fucking shit coffee is hot, but McDonald’s had over heated their water to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s 121C. Not just hot, but really FUCKING hot. Your fancy Starbucks lattes are brewed to 150 degrees.
The 79 year old woman had this cup of 250F (121C) coffee between her legs when it spilled so 250F (121C) coffee spilled on her genitals
She got third degree burns…on her genitals. THIRD DEGREE.
She had to have skin grafts to repair the damage
When she sued McDonald’s, it wasn’t for millions of dollars, it was for $20,000 to cover hospital costs and court fees. 20-fucking-thousand.
It was the courts that awarded her the amount of money she got. Again, she only wanted hospital bills and court costs
McDonald’s changed their heating policy, but not before making her sign a gag order keeping her from talking about this case
So she had to live on hearing little shits like you call her stupid and money-grubbing, and other horrendous stuff because she dared ask the company in the wrong to fix what they fucked up.
MORE FUN FACTS:
9. The woman who was burned was not driving the car, she was a passenger.
10. The car was not in motion when she was burned. The car was parked so she could add cream and sugar.
The coffee case is one of the biggest examples of a carefully-crafted smear campaign by a company that is in the wrong trying to hide that.
Additionally, several people had been badly burned by McDonald’s coffee prior to that case, both employees and customers, and McDonald’s had been fined and told to lower the heat of their coffee. They refused to lower the coffee’s heat, continuing to serve a product they KNEW from EXPERIENCE was dangerous, because they could.
When she was burned, she reached out to McDonald’s for them to cover her medical expenses. They sent her a coupon booklet as a big eff yuu.
She required skin grafts not just on her genitals but on her thighs, buttocks, and I think stomach. Like, it was a lot of skin grafts! And did you know that skin grafts don’t always take? She was very severely hurt by a product that McDonald’s knew for a FACT was dangerous.
But nah, go on talking about how she was just foolish and greedy, that’s obviously the case, big corporations have all of our best interest in heart, really they do.
Her name was Stella Liebeck. She has since passed away but I think it’s important to name the victim in this story. Her name was Stella Liebeck and the coffee was so hot that it fused her labia together. It melted her genitals closed. But it’s all just a giant joke, huh?
By the way?
Liebeck, who also underwent debridement treatments, sought to settle her claim for $20,000, but McDonalds refused.
At that point, she had medical bills of over $11,000. She was anticipating more. She didn’t have much money. She just wanted McDonald’s to pay for the damage their coffee had done so that she could get medical treatment. Seems reasonable, right?
McDonald’s countered with an offer of $800, then turned down repeated requests to settle.
And there weren’t several people who were burned before Liebeck. It was a LOT worse than that.
During discovery, McDonalds produced documents showing more than 700 claims by people burned by its coffee between 1982 and 1992. Some claims involved third-degree burns substantially similar to Liebeck[’]s. This history documented McDonalds’ knowledge about the extent and nature of this hazard.
So McDonald’s knew that their coffee was burning people–in some cases, causing third-degree burns. They knew it for TEN YEARS. And they did nothing about it.
Oh, and the jury award?
The jury awarded Liebeck $200,000 in compensatory damages. This amount was reduced to $160,000 because the jury found Liebeck 20 percent at fault in the spill. The jury also awarded Liebeck $2.7 million in punitive damages, which equals about two days of McDonalds’ coffee sales.
:::
The trial court subsequently reduced the punitive award to $480,000 – or three times compensatory damages – even though the judge called McDonalds’ conduct reckless, callous and willful.
So all of the jokes about how rich Liebeck got off the settlement? Nope. McDonald’s ended up not even haping to pay most of it.
Nancy Tiano says her mother was “never happy about the incident” and that “the burns and court proceedings took their toll.” During her final years, Tiano says, her mother had no quality of life. The good news is that the settlement helped to ease the end of her life by paying for a live-in nurse.
That’s where the money went. For medical care.
Don’t forget that the REASON that they serve their coffee at DANGEROUSLY high temperatures (Injuring literally thousands of customers) is because coffee brewed and kept at those DANGEROUSLY HIGH temperatures tastes fresher longer, so less undrunk coffee has to be thrown out throughout the day, so McDonalds can MAKE MORE PROFIT on their damn coffee sales.
Forever reblog.
Because why not? ;-)

I don’t think this counts as dancing. Or even skipping really. It’s more of an exagerated waddle
So. Let me tell you about the day I took this video. It was the 1 year anniversary of my open heart surgery. It’s about a year old, and I’d say it’s pretty safe to say I’ve improved since then. In case you don’t agree, let’s take a look at some more at my exaggerated waddling.
Waddle.
Waddle waddle.
*rolls across the floor*
Clearly I am immobilized by my own mass.
Oh wait… that’s not it, is it? It sort of seems like the opposite. Almost as though the ability to dance is based on strength, effort and passion and not on being skinny. Strange concept I know, let’s see if you can wrap your tiny little mind around it.
not to mention she wasnt waddling at all.. That was clearly a jete, chasse, and assemble.. not waddling. ballet…
Yo. Professional ballerina speaking here.
Clearly she is performing a saute arabesque, chasse, step-step, assemble devant with arms in fifth.
And as a teacher too, I can’t find much technically wrong with it at all.
Which means not only is she a gifted dancer, she has a wonderful technical foundation that she is executing properly and with lovely mannerism.
Being a ballerina isn’t about how much you weigh. Give me this girl ANY day for a student or dancer to work with. Clearly she has the knowledge and the passion, which means she will be a joy to work with.
Also, for those of you criticizing, you clearly have NO idea how difficult it is to execute a develope ecarte derriere the way she is at the barre in one of her later photos. This takes YEARS of dedicated training, as well as extensive natural facility, such as turnout, which she clearly demonstrates here.
So maybe before you peons thinking you’re masters of ballet judge dancers based on weight, you should actually learn about ballet and technique. Because if you had, you’d recognize that this girl clearly has technique—unlike your basic asses.
People who try to make other people ashamed of to dance are the WORST sort of twatwaffles
I’ve reblogged this before… I love the joy and dedication on her face… and the “Waddle… Waddle waddle” caption gets me every time. :-D
Tumblr tends to be very America-centric so can we just turn our eyes for a minute to the UK
Specifically to this woman.
Earlier today, Jo Cox, a Labour MP in Northern England, was stabbed and shot at an event in a library.
It has just been confirmed that she has died due to the attack.
She was a great campaigner and humanitarian, and has left behind a husband and two children.
This kind of event happens rarely in the UK, and so this is terrifying and destabilising that such a horrific thing has happened to such a compassionate person.
Can thoughts on Tumblr turn to the UK today please, and turn to remember a woman who has been brutally murdered after a lifetime of trying to build a better country.
Guys, I’m begging you to reblog this Jo Cox was a representative, and she was shot while meeting with her constituents. She has been very vocally advocating for Syrian refugees to enter Britain, and was shot by a man who allegedly shouted “Britain first” several times. She died within an hour. <b>Please give her death and life the attention it deserves.
“We all know that the vast majority of the terrified, friendless and profoundly vulnerable child refugees scattered across Europe tonight came from Syria.
“We also know that as that conflict enters its sixth barbaric year that desperate Syrian families are being forced to make an impossible decision: stay and face starvation, rape, persecution and death or make a perilous journey to find sanctuary elsewhere.
“And who can blame desperate parents for wanting to escape the horror that their families are experiencing. The reality in which children are being killed on their way to school, where children as young as seven are being forcibly recruited to the front line and where one in three Syrian children have grown up knowing nothing but fear and war.
“These children have been exposed to things no child should ever witness and I know I personally would risk life and limb to get my two precious babies out of that hell-hole.”
- Jo Cox MP, speaking to parliament in 2015
As I just watched Stargate SG-1 again after years of abstinence...
can somebody please tell me that Carter and O’Neill eventually made it up together? Because when I watched SG-1 back then, I somehow didn’t watch the last 1-2 seasons and now I don’t know but I need to know they made it at some point! Tell me, please! Save my soul.
@vorchagirl? If I remember correctly you also watched it? Anybody else? (And dare you tell me they never made it!)
I just googled it and read they never really made it officially and I AM FUCKING SAD NOW because what, ten seasons and they never made it? How can you be so cruel to me? How can you tease us again and again and for what? For nothing?
CRUEL COLD WORLD!

Maybe this post by @passwordsfishing would help? Why the Stargate fandom can officially declare Sam/Jack canon (even though the producers forgot to mention it)
And if you want fic, here’s a big list of Sam/Jack fic recs for you.
This post of @angievonasgard‘s is amazing.
Also this photo is a gift.
So sad. :(
And that picture is indeed awesome.
Enh, for this Sam/Jack writer – and some of you must be tired of hearing me say this –Threads and Moebius were all the confirmation I needed. They went fishing together, FCOL! TPTB sucked so bad at writing relationships that I didn’t really want confirmation by the end.
Though I did like the picture of Jack in Sam’s luggage on Atlantis, and her comment to Keller in the deleted scene from Trio.
This is all true.
I also don’t really want them to have babies.
But don’t tell katcorvi.
@nandamai, I actually agree with you; I think the last thing we wanted was for the dudes who wrote and directed Stargate to get their greasy fingerprints all over Sam and Jack. I’m 95% okay with canon as-is, and so very grateful to fic writers for that last 5%. (And to AT and RDA for all their adorableness at cons and stuff since the show ended.)
And @nellie-oleson, I don’t have anything against babyfic, but it’s definitely not a thing I need for these two. Babies are pregnancy are exhausting enough when you’re in your 20s and haven’t spent the last decade going off-world, fighting a secret intergalactic war.
I, for one, hate S/J babyfics. I can’t see it for them at all imo. No time for babies when you are intergalactic space heroes.
LIGO gravitational wave ‘chirrup’ caused by the merging of two black holes.
Second Gravitational Wave Discovered!
Scientists at LIGO have just detected gravitational waves for the second time ever!
This is exciting news as it signals that the first detection wasn’t merely a fluke but that we are in fact on the right track to interacting with such phenomena regularly.
What is a gravitational wave? It’s a literal “jiggle” in spacetime caused by a dramatic event like the collision of two large black holes.
This effectively busts wide open a new field of astronomy: gravitational-wave astronomy!
Many space scientists rely on either rovers, spacecraft, optical, radio or even infrared observatories (or some combination) etc. Well now it seems plausible to expect more astronomers to specialize in the interaction between gravitatyand the fabric of spacetime itself.
Considering things like black holes, dark energy and dark matter leave all have considerable gravitational marks and yet hold many secrets back from light, it could stand to reason we now sit on the threshold of a new era in astronomy.
For now though a new door has opened and it’s time to explore
