Has anyone considered HPD Qi Rong??? Been looking at the symptoms for HPD and they line up pretty well
Rapidly shifting and shallow emotions - Self explanatory
Dramatic and extremely emotionally expressive, even to the point of embarrassing friends and family in public - Also self explanatory
Have a “larger than life” presence - I'd argue Qi Rong is extremely noticeable in any room he's in, for better or for worse
Physical appearance draws attention to themselves (bright-colored clothing or revealing clothing) - Qi Rong is mostly portrayed with bright green clothes that are worn improperly, so I'd argue this is accurate
Acts inappropriately sexual with most of the people they meet, even when they’re not sexually attracted to them - This one reminds me of when Qi Rong "flirted" with the wind master in the books, but can also refer to his weird sexual jokes in general
Speaks dramatically and expresses strong opinions but with few facts or details to support their opinions - Just most Qi Rong dialogue in general
Is gullible and easily influenced by others, especially by the people they admire - The whole Jun Wu thing, but this can also refer to Qi Rong's younger years with Xie Lian
Thinks that their relationships with others are closer than they usually are - Qi Rong with Xie Lian
Has difficulty maintaining relationships and often seems fake or shallow in their interactions with others - Self explanatory I feel
Needs instant gratification and becomes bored or frustrated very easily - Very characteristic of Qi Rong
Constantly seeks reassurance or approval - This mostly shows in backstory parts of the story, but I feel like it's relevant
The disorder's also typically caused by childhood trauma (child abuse or the loss of a parent, of which Qi Rong has suffered through both) and/or children whose guardians use parenting styles that lack boundaries, are over-indulgent, or inconsistent, which aligns a lot with how Qi Rong is treated by his new guardians after his mom's death. This is just a thing I thought abt in the shower bc I was bored but I honestly think HPD Qi Rong explains a lot
no tv show will ever be able to resolve a m/m/f love triangle as perfectly and as weirdly as Hannibal, in which the woman kisses one of the guys, sleeps with the other one, then decides "actually, never mind, you're both awful!" and marries a rich lesbian instead - and, while this is all going on, the guys develop a weird homoerotic obsession with each other culminating in them going off a cliff together. truly unhinged and unmatched
Insane things that Will did that make him much worse than Hannibal:
He had a gun with him when Hannibal stabbed him and he didn't even try to fight back, he let himself be held as his bowels were falling out
He foreplayed with his therapist during therapy
He had to be stopped from shooting a guy crawling out of a horse all because he had psychosexual rage towards his therapist and wanted to take it out on the guy he was supposed to catch
Flew to Europe to sneak around Hannibal's old property, called the scar on his stomach a 'smile' and forced Chiyoh to kill the guy she's been keeping a prisoner because he wanted to see what she would do, then turned his corpse into a grotesque art piece with no witnesses to that
He sailed to Europe and told the detective there that 'he doesn't know what he'll do when he sees Hannibal so he should be careful' ?? (brother you're there to catch Hannibal....)
He sat with Hannibal in the gallery saying the most romantic shit ever, failed to stab him and then he just let Hannibal dig the bullet out and drug him??? (you can't convince me he didn't have an ounce of energy to fight back or see that coming mr I tell u the past and future with my autism powers)
He started combing his hair back after Hannibal tried to saw open his brain... ok whore
He got jealous when Hannibal started admiring a serial killer
He never once complained about eating Hannibal's cooking & he KNEW it was people...
Scum villain really was so revolutionary for having a noncon sexual blood drinking scene despite having zero vampire characters and the character who it's nonconsensual for was the blood drinker and also it happened to him 3 different times with 3 different guys

Some stories had almost become folk legend with how often they were repeated. The most heart pulling suggestions: A scholarly beauty hid behind his fan, his porcelain mask shattered by the strength of the Bai Zhan peak lord, only for the scholar to stab the brute with the sharp glass.
Liu Qingge survives his Qi Deviation, with Shen Qingqiu to accompany him. The two circle each other, pulled into each others gravitational fields. But when one grey lotus steps into the scene, the three are sent hurtling towards each other.

It was especially bad on Qing Jing peak. There wasn’t much else or the disciples to do while plucking the strings of a guqin except let aimless words fly. The stories of peak lords traveled the quickest — scandals surrounding superiors are the juiciest after all.
It wasn’t strange to be wandering the bamboo groves and overhear these fanciful fairytales fly. Murmurings of cheating, heartbreak, and failed relationships.

“Ooh, what?” Luo Binghe let himself smile. It must be good news for her to be so excited!
“Shizun was just spotted with Liu-shishu!”
Luo Binghe’s smile froze. “Oh.”
“Do you know how crazy this is? Those two speak even less then Shizun and Yue-shibo!”
'“No, no, I understand…”
“Li-shijie told me that they fight during every peak lord meeting,” Ning Yingying whispered.
“Why?” Luo Binghe’s voice was unwavering the face of these horrific facts. Shizun might hate another man!
Ning Yingying shrugged. “Apparently they used to be friends, but stopped out of the blue one day.”
Luo Binghe was left stewing until nightfall. Was Liu-shishu the whole reason Shizun was perpetually pissed off?
A few hours earlier
Shen Qingqiu had entered the Lingxi caves to stabilize his meridians. A couple months in seclusion, and he should be able to combat the long-lasting damage in his body. But now, he was close to another qi deviation!
“Stop, fighting!” He gritted out.
Liu Qingge stood panting and bloody in front of him, half clothed with fabric scraps littered across the floor. He was close to death, and was going to drag Shen Qingqiu down with him at this rate. Liu Qingge snarled, and launched himself and Shen Qingqiu again. He swung his sword wildly, not caring if he hit himself or his so-called opponent.
His eyes were clouded and bloodshot. Liu Qingge might be the War God, but Shen Qingqiu was forged from the brutal heat of lawless brawls. He sidestepped the feral peak lord’s attacks easily.
Liu Qingge had smashed the once-smooth rocks in his struggle, leaving them sharp. The cut into Shen Qingqiu’s legs as he ran from Liu Qingge.
Shen Qingqiu scooped up the small debris now littering the ground. Just like the leaves, these could be transformed into a weapon. For those at rock bottom, you might as well use the tools at your hand.
He flung out the sharp stones, letting them knock Liu Qingge to the ground. He stay there, laying in a puddle of his own sweat and blood, chest heaving as his eyes slowly cleared.
Shen Qingqiu backed into a corner, only stopping when he felt the wall at his back. He waited for Liu Qingge to do something — anything — to strike him, yell at him, flee.
“Why-,” Liu Qingge started, panting to catch his breath.
“Shut up and breathe. I can’t be called responsible for your death if I didn’t actually kill you.”
“Oh, I’m sure there’ll be plenty more opportunities in the future,” Liu Qingge huffed out. Shen Qingqiu didn’t reward him with a response, instead pressing Liu Qingge’s torn clothes against the cuts adorning his own leg.
“You’re lucky I didn’t kill you.” Liu Qingge said. He was smug, that brute.
It took a few hours to drag their bodies out of the caves, and no one was there to greet them on the outside.
“I can walk, you know.” Shen Qingiqu tried to shake Liu Qingge off.
“No.” Liu Qingge pulled him close to his side.
Shen Qingqiu couldn’t muster up the energy to pull away again.
The sun set, and the two of them parted ways. Shen Qingqiu fell into his bed, not even bothering to discard his ruined robes.
Perhaps he would make Luo Binghe wash them in the morning, and give the boy a good scolding when he did it wrong. The boy was getting too much muscle out of the manual labor Shen Qingqiu had forced him to do. He was learning how to do it quickly, and it was making Shen Qingqiu look foolish to beat him for a job well done.
Fragments of plans floated through Shen Qingqiu’s mind. They all crumbled into the abyss of sleep as his eyes drifted closed. But one question remained on his mind.
Why hadn’t Liu Qingge killed him, right then and there?
