boom suck an egg
a cheesy situation [chase&gigi]
@rxzberries
When Chase had first moved to Arcadia nearly a year ago, his first apartment had cost him a cool 1,000G a month to rent. Although the walls were basically paper thin, the neighbors annoying, and the kitchen abysmal... it was an apartment none the less.
Over the course of the last few weeks, a particular townsperson had spent enough money for him to have lived in that apartment for twenty months on just fucking mozzarella sticks.
The first three orders had him thinking, “wow, this person really likes mozzarella sticks”.
The first ten orders had him thinking, “wow, this person must be a picky eater”.
The first thirty orders had him thinking, “STOP”.
Here he was, standing next to the usually chipper redhead again with a plate of bread covered cheese and a grim expression on his face.
“Georgia, we need to have a talk.”

leaky roof [chase/elliott]
@flushedprose
This wasn’t like him, but then again he would have done anything he could to avoid this situation if he could, but the past was in the past.
A particularly nasty bout of rain had his the island recently and caused a major flood in Chase’s condo, thankfully sparing the restaurant below. However, his living space was damaged far too much to live in and he had one choice.
“Can I... stay a few weeks?”
Chase was standing at Elliott’s door, staring at his own boyfriend, like a stranger with how sheepish he felt. It was commonplace for him to come and go as he pleased, making sure to set in stone how important it was that he absolutely wasn’t living there, mostly to soothe his own anxiety.
“I mean, unless it’s a hassle, then I can just go... stay at an Inn.”
He felt uncharacteristically shy, and it felt like shit.

“Yes, thank you for asking,” Matai spoke, his elbows leaning against the counter-top, his head resting in one of his hands.
Matai was a rare bar patron, only going if he was bored, needed some light entertainment, or if he was keeping an eye on someone and needed information. Usually, whatever drink he wanted could be had at the Pirate’s Den or his own ship. Not that drinking meant too much to him. Leo’s body could hold liquor almost too well. It made drinking sometimes…not as fun as it could be. In the back of his mind, Matai was happy that Q was a bit of a lightweight.
“Just a whiskey and coke,” Matai smiled at the bartender, his eye drifting lazily to the static-filled television. Well…perhaps this wasn’t the best place to come for some entertainmen.
“... good choice.” Chase couldn’t help it but the sarcasm was thick on his lips, not sounding like he thought that was a good choice at all. Whiskey and coke was something you drank when you were 16 and couldn’t stomach the taste of whiskey in his own opinion, and to regulars, he could often ask if they wanted any liquor with their soda.
This strange pirate man wasn’t someone Chase was familiar with. Of course the islands were only so big, and he looked vaguely familiar, probably having crossed paths on a walk to work or something equally mundane.
Chase was a simple man, preferring a quiet life of work to the grandiose adventuring lifestyle that people seemed more drawn to nowadays.
“Did you want a straw?”
For your little baby drink...

Working at the dingiest bar in town definitely gave him that little bit of extra cash flow, because even though the bar never got too busy, people usually tipped generously.
Wiping the same glass he had been for the last ten or so minutes he let his eyes drift to the tiny television that seemed to be playing 90% static and 10% of a barely watchable sports match. Based on the positioning of the players it was either hockey or tennis.. or anything. Hell, how was even the sound barely recognizable. Arcadia was such a lush land of fantastic culinary resources and inspiration, but man was their technology really lacking.
He missed the polished LCD screens of Leuda, the new cell phones that you’d buy every eight months, the internet that loaded right away without 10 minutes of waiting. There were certain things he missed.
Turning back to one of the only patrons sitting at the bar he raised an eyebrow, giving them a polite nod. “You want anything to drink?”

It wasn’t unheard of for people to walk out on a date, and Chase liked to have his hostesses keep tabs on customers just for that reason. They were smart enough to keep a look out for uncomfortable looking couples and note the time they spent in the bathroom, and around the fifteen minute mark someone would be sent in to check on them.
By the lack of people and the open window, it was clear to every employee at Brie and Beaujolais that half of a dining party had fled into the night.
There were enough cameras that Chase could contact the police about the dine and dash later, since he usually liked to stick the running asshole with the usually large bill, but now was the uncomfortable part where he had to tell the remaining party that their date was gone.
“Hey there... got a moment?” He approached the table, taking the seat across from them with an awkward and apologetic smile. “Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but your date kind of ran off. Did you want a box to pack the food up?”

Will Their Piercings Get Locked Like Kids With Braces? by Fall Out Boy | Chase & Angela
"Holy shit, I’ll hold you to that.” Angela gasped. “We’ll get home and Elliott will lose his goddamn mind, I love it.” She grinned, nearly splitting her lip on the edge of the knife. “Ah, fuck.” The knife was lowered and sheathed, returning to its place on her hip with ease.
Being this close to Chase - close enough to feel his breath tickle her face - made her heart flutter. Being 16 again was so weird, knowing what she knew and how she felt while still dealing with her adolescent impulses. She wanted to drown in him for two completely different reasons that were warring in her head. Did the reason really matter though, at the end of the day? Angela leaned in and pressed a kiss to his lips.
“Let’s get outta here then.”
It didn’t.
"Oh, absolutely. Have you seen him by the way?"
He returned the kiss happily, touching her face gently but also pinching her cheek with a grin.
"He looks like an absolute nerd."
Chase grabbed Angela by the hand, still the same slow and sure entanglement of their fingers that they had learned over how many years, Chase tugging her down the hall and further from the loud thumps of the crappy mid 2000s music echoing the dance floor. He remembered seeing a staircase that led to the roof, and that was the perfect place for whatever trouble they were going to make. Helping Angela over the threshold until they were sitting on the tiled roof itself, Chase sat down next to her and leaned over to give her another kiss.
"I would have totally dated you in high school, by the way."

"Maybe, maybe.” She hummed, making sure she still had at least two tiny bottles of vodka in the pockets of her leather jacket. The lighter, meanwhile, was nestled in her bra - because of course it was. “God I wish I had a tattoo artist friend. Do you have any idea how much ink I’d have pumping through my blood? It’d match the alcohol.” She laughed. Her alcohol problem was another thing that started way back in her teens. Talk about being a troubled kid.
“I wasn’t good.”
“Perfect.” She reached for her switchblade that was clipped to her hip. “We match.” Angela flashed the blade, holding it up to her lips the way she would a finger while trying to keep a secret. “I think I’m sick of dealin’ with other people though. Wanna go be not-good together?”
"But I mean, we could always get tattoos together after this."Â
Chase knew that he, his adult self, wanted to get some sort of cooking tattoo on his forearm, and he didn't doubt he and Angela could make a fun day of getting tattoos together. No matter what he did with Angela, it was fun. Despite all the anxiety and damage beneath her skin, she was such a light in his life, and he loved her.
Chase smirked at the knife, leaning in to press his lips against it as well, the cold blade the only thing separating their lips.
"Of course. Why else do you think I came to this stupid party?"

Emo fuck.Â
His eye twitched, scoffing and turning his head to the side but not before taking a moment to appreciate just how different Angela looked, but it wasn’t entirely unexpected. Even with the giant boots and 9,001 necklaces… it was still Angela’s eyes on that smirking face.Â
“At least I don’t look like the edgy girl in sister’s of the traveling pants.“Â
Chase hugged his back, pushing down the urge to do something ridiculous like spit on her shoulder for insulting his… somewhat wild hair. It took so long to straighten when he was younger, damn those natural curls.Â
"A nose ring? Wow Angela— didn’t know you had it in you.”
"You have no idea what I’m capable of, Bennett.” She smirked. “Though you’re not exactly one to talk are ya? Mister I-have-half-a-million-piercings-on-just-my-face. Makes me wonder if you have more.” There was a teasing tone to her voice, but something else too. Suggestive. Like she was implying something way more inappropriate.Â
“How much money did you blow on all those holes, hm? And how’d ya get it?” Her fingers walked up his chest. “Were you bad?”
Chase stiffened a little bit at the comment, tapping her hands and sputtering slightly. This was Angela, someone he loved, and young Chase hadn't been too good with love. He'd had about seven girlfriend's at one time and had once literally jumped from the second floor of his school to flee from a confrontation. His heart fluttered, but it was something so amplified due to the disgusting hormones coursing through his veins.
"I might, Summers." Chase laughed, messing up her hair with one hand before exploring his pockets. Cigarettes, check. Flip phone, check. 5 lighters, check check check check check.
Along with a Polaroid camera attached to his waist by a chunky black strap.
"One of my friends was a tattoo artist and would give me them for free if I cooked for him."
Was he bad? He didn't really want to answer that. He was perhaps a bit... relentless.
"I wasn't good."
