Hey everyone! Sorry for the delay, but this is a note to say that Weirdmageddon has officially come to its conclusion! A proper end post was in the works at one point, but time hasn’t permit me the opportunity. But with that said I hope everyone enjoyed it! And a special congratulations to our outstanding complete zodiac. Great hustle, you guys!
Thank you all for participating! I hope you had fun!
is it possible for multiple muses to have the same symbols? its kinda confusing since the original material kinda suggested there was one per each and not totally sure how characters might interact if both have the thing or if a character knows multiple people with the same thing, etc.
Absolutely, multiple muses can have the same symbols! But regardless of that they can still manage to work together to seek out those of different symbols and be a part of different zodiacs. The purpose there is to give an opportunity for everyone to interact with those they maybe haven’t before!
That doesn’t necessarily mean muses bearing the same symbol have no room for interaction though. I know I personally am using muses sharing a symbol as a sort of common ground. Outside of that, there’s plenty of local disasters off which you’re free to work as well! I hope that helps!
I'm a bit confused about one thing about the symbols: say for the event the muse got a personality change, should I make their symbol the one that fits their personality right now or the symbol that fits their main personality?
This is a little tricky because I genuinely didn’t anticipate any personality switches with Weirdmageddon. But it should definitely fit their core personality. You could even play with the idea of that symbol attuning/returning them to their original personality if you like!
That said, if you’ve already done something like a personality swap for the first half of the event no sweat, but for those who haven’t I’d like to discourage forming any plots around the idea of a personality swap (purely because it isn’t really a focus of Weirdmageddon)!
In response to the latest developments, it was undeniable that Bill could feel the threat rising against him. And, though laughable he found the events unfolding to be, cautionary measures need be taken none the less...
Sector oo1: Night at the Wax Museum
Sector oo2: The Walking Undead
Sector oo3: Diamonds are Forever
Sector oo4: Who You Gonna Call?
Sector oo5: Nightmare on Hive Street
Sector oo6: Bubbles, Act II
Sector oo1:
The wax which formerly fell from the skies appears to be moving of its own accord. What were previously puddles have now gained shape and form into the spitting image of recognizable individuals. This varies from a doppelganger of yourself to historical and fictional persons such as John Wilkes Booth and Sherlock Holmes. They seem to be mirroring their personalities as well.
Take every precaution when fighting these living wax figures. Dicing them will still leave their severed wax arms sentient enough to crawl after you. Their ultimate weakness is heat!
Sector oo2:
The ground trembles and breaks beneath your feet as from the earth arises the undead. Known for their pale skin and bad attitudes, these creatures are often mistaken for teenagers.
Their skulls are unbreakable using brute force (which, coincidentally, is also the only known way of taking them down), however they’re very susceptible to bright lights and peer pressure. Additionally it seems that the skulls which had formerly rained from the skies turned out to be zombie skulls. Crush those up and coat yourselves, and you’ll have a fool-proof way of tricking the zombies into avoiding you!
News also suggest that their skulls can be shattered by a perfect 3-part harmony.
Sector oo3:
You thought glitter was harmful? It appears that diamonds are now raining from the skies in place of the previous showers of this staple of crafts. Having proven to be no laughing matter when colliding with passers-by, venders have been spotted on street corners selling titanium umbrellas to get from place to place without being pelted. Sadly, these are cheaply made in effort to get you to buy more, and break within ten minutes spent beneath the diamond showers.
Sector oo4:
What’s that? Ain’t afraid of no [ghosts?]
That’s right. Just when you thought the spookiest day of the year was over and done with, it seems as though Sector oo4 has been flooded with a great number of sinister specters! Be on your guard!
Sector oo5:
Although the salty rain which had once drizzled over the sector had long-since dried, such a state the sector would not be in for long. Building trembled as a great tidal wave came crashing through. Though this massive wave did not have the same effect which regular water might.
Instead, rather than decimating everything in its path, the [Weirdness Wave] was accompanied by all sorts of oddities in the moment it swept the populace. Small rats grew to the size of tanks, as mailboxes sprouted tongues and aggressively attempted to devour the hands of those merely looking to send out a letter.
But no doubt the most consequential happening to follow this catastrophe was your worst nightmares left in the wake of the wave. Always had a fear of dogs? Suddenly it would seem that a hoard of these beasts was on your tail. Don’t like heights? It seems as if the sidewalk all around you has been painted to [reflect that great height.] Though whether that particular effect is real or fake is all up to you...
Suddenly Sector oo5 seems a rather nightmarish place to be.
Sector oo6:
The last of the shower of bubbles to grace the sector had finally popped, but in their wake something exceptionally bizarre arose. Seemingly from empty space giant swirling bubbles in dappled hues of neon pinks, greens, blues, and so on rose into the air. They bounced along of their own free will, appearing to possess a certain degree of weightlessness.
They would come to be known as [Bubbles of Pure Madness,] the contents of which were largely a mystery. They varied between six to thirteen feet in diameter. And, though passing through would only have a momentary effect on your body, lingering for too long could have some dire consequences...
A great catastrophe with seemingly no end in sight, all the oddities which accompanied Weirdmageddon had almost become commonplace for the city’s unfortunate inhabitants. On and off, peculiar showers of cats and dogs, glitter, and pine needles peppered streets stalked vigorously by flocks of eyebats. In the meantime inanimate objects spawned legs and gained sentience, scrambling about with hostile intent to match those of the monsters that seemed to be steadily growing in number.
Though all the city was seized by this weirdness, there was no question that the greatest devastation lay in the shadow of the pyramid. Towering over Sector oo5, the jet structure frequently emitted a steady and rhythmic baseline in accordance with the party which continued to rage within.
With his attentions attuned to those of a like mind, Bill didn’t anticipate in the least any threat arising from the Hive’s occupants. Yet, it was to his misfortune that a development outside of his control began to rise up; rumors running rampant on the streets of a means by which his reign would come to an end.
Resources surfaced reflecting a tale which could only be attributed to those dimensions Bill Cipher had previously threatened-- stories of how to combat his terror seeping into public knowledge. Many assumed this to merely be hopeful propaganda, until a strange development did occur.
A searing pain momentarily flashed across many an inhabitant’s hand, on the back of it a symbol appearing etched into their skin as if by a flame. Those who had heard of the rumors might recognize it as being one among ten symbols on Bill Cipher’s zodiac wheel. Symbols which, when combined, could effectively vanquish Bill. It took mere minutes for a text which would confirm what had, until then, only been hearsay.

Text: Attention, inhabitants of Hive City. If you are in possession of one of these marks I need you to listen carefully. There is a way in which we can dispatch Bill Cipher and all his horrors once and for all, and I am asking for your cooperation.
These symbols which many of you have received are a part of an old legend-- a mystical human energy circuit which has the ability to undo everything Cipher has brought to this dimension. You simply must find the nine others which make up the circle, and complete it by taking hands in formation.
No doubt every oddity contained within this city will make an effort to get in your way, so be ready for anything. Most importantly, don’t let Bill catch you! Good luck.

Moving right along to the second part of this member-run event, here are the basics!
You’re free to choose whichever symbol you like! Though the symbol you choose should correlate to the aspects which best define your character (see below).
Your character is under no obligation to have a mark from the wheel. They could simply defend those who do or whatnot!
Additionally if your character would be with Bill, they may have that marked with the outline of a triangle on the back of their hand.
You are welcome to swap from a triangle to one of the signs if your character has a change of heart (or vice versa). However you cannot swap between symbols. Once you select one, that’s it! So choose wisely.
You don’t have to have a thread with ten people in order to form a circle. You’re welcome to fill in empty spaces with NPCs!
You may tag this half of the event with #takebackthehive
If you make a post stating your character’s symbol you may tag that as #cittageddonzodiac
Any questions may continue to be directed here!
The symbols are as follows:
Question mark - A curiosity to those around you, you are one who never quite appears transparent to others. It could be that you mask your ailments with a smile, or otherwise appear to know of or care less than is there beneath the surface. Either way, you do not open up easy, and are fully known by few.
Keywords: Enigmatic, loner, secretive, suspicious
Ice - Cool and collected in the face of danger, your resolve impresses and inspires others to dispense with their fears and follow your lead.
Keywords: Chill, easy-going, fearless, bold
The Royal Order of the Holy Mackerel - Your sense of worth is one which exists as a part of something larger than yourself. That is to say that you are one who lives on behalf of others, be they friends, family, a mutual cause, or what-have-you. There is nothing you would not give for the benefit of those who matter most to you.
Keywords: Community, network, connection, selflessness
Pine tree - A lone pine which continues to stand in the face of adversity. You are a pillar of strength; one who has grown and endured where others have fallen.
Keywords: Leadership, seasoned, courage, determination
Star - One who shines and projects a magnetic sort of charm. You are able to rally others with dazzling ease. But there are two sides to a natural talent such as this, and closer inspection may reveal the use of that power for dubious intent.
Keywords: Radiant, charismatic, reputable, double-sided
Six-fingered Hand - You are one who is peculiar, and stands apart from the crowd. That which makes you unusual defines you, or else has made you a subject of interest or ridicule through the years.
Keywords: Odd, unusual, gifted, outlandish
Llama - You possess an unbridled ability to survive a workload beneath which others would crumble. Renowned for your responsibility and raw endurance, you shoulder that which others are unable to bear the burden of. Llamas are nature’s greatest warriors.
Keywords: Perseverance, hard-working, tolerance, stamina
Shooting Star - You bring light and life to those around you. Your capacity to dream is without limitation, leading you never to fear to wish upon a star.
Keywords: Renewal, youth, spirit, dreams, hope
Heart - An individual who’s heart has been split. You could be choosing between two conflicting and painful paths. Perhaps you are one who has been broken and mended, or else still nursing an open wound.
Keywords: Heartbroken, conflict, torn, turmoil, recovery
Spectacles - Intellectual to a t, it is upon this asset which you have relied. Whether it is to your own benefit, or that of others, your mind is key.
Keywords: Scholarly, learned, wise, curious
If our characters hold any business in Citta, can we make anything funny happen to the buildings themselves, like spontaneously catching fire or having the whole structure run through the city with legs and all?
I don’t see why not! Also consider:
When you enter a door into one room it lets out into a completely different room. Maybe even the roof
Every room has a singing bass on the wall that cannot be removed
If a character gets turned to stone, would that effectively count as dying? And if so... because a character 'regenerates' after dying since death isn't permanent, would the stone version vanish, or would multiple versions (one dead and another alive) exist at once?
If someone gets turned to stone they wouldn’t actually die! Getting turned to stone actually wears off after a while. If you join the stone throne though good luck getting out once you’re in (that will only reverse if the entire throne is brought down).
But say your character is completely or partially turned to stone and remains on the ground-- that can wear off after an indefinite amount of time (that time is up to you)!
Because the main focus of the event should be more external than centered around your characters undergoing transformation themselves I’m going to discourage it for now. But safe to say there is something in store which could allow for that.
Hey everyone! I notice that people are putting a lot of emphasis on transforming your character. And, while that is made possible by Weirdmageddon to a degree, it isn’t necessarily a staple. Therefore, I’d like to encourage everyone to branch out and try different things-- maybe focusing more on the external rather than how it directly affects your character!
Weirdness waves are pretty common and can create a lot of different possibilities for interaction. So remember you don’t necessarily have to stick to one focal point for all your threads! There are a lot of ways to utilize the oddball, hostile environment around you. So don’t be afraid to break out your adventurous side and change things up! It’s your opportunity to get creative! And, as always, I’m open for questions! Thanks guys!
What about the actual ones Bill had in the show? Are they around? ( Not talking eye bats. The other ones)
As much as I’d love to have Bill’s fellow interdimensional terrors friends around, they aren’t for Cittageddon. They are technically characters who could be apped, and wouldn’t be a fair equivalent of NPCs. I hope that answers your question!
If Bill is the one orchestrating this, does it mean it's all an illusion right now?
Nope! For those who do know of Bill Cipher and how his powers usually work, it’s understood that he usually operates from the Mindscape, and therefore can’t do any tangible damage outside of possessing a body.
However, with Weirdmageddon in motion, the rift itself manages to give him his own physical form. And that makes the horrors unleashed...very real.
