Doodles + Lilith’s Steampunk AU design that I’m still trying out.

i always come back after a month or two of disappearing. :’)

i got a few asks here and there and some of you guys are asking about the steampunk AU + if i do art trades / commissions !! unfortunately due to a lot of stuff happening on my end i can’t really do commissions or trades :,D though i’ve been thinking of doing those later in the future :3 but as for the steampunk AU, i’m still working on the next chapter ^^

anyway, here’s some random doodles for now :]

how does steve get his goggles on over his horn? does hunter meet the rest of the hexsquad before going through the portal or only during & after?

1. The goggles have adjustable straps so it should make it easier for Steve to wear. It's just that I don't think he lets them rest on his head, he usually has them around his neck instead because it's probably comfortable that way!!

2. Hunter met them before going through the portal!! it's just that he never got to know them better at all.

The longest he's stayed with one of the hexsquad members (luz) was 3 days... and that was only because he was stuck :" I'm pretty sure he's always been aware of Amity since Alador and Odalia usually participate in events and showdowns.

But like... their expectations of him being a pretty normal kid was because of his penstagram. He gets a scroll earlier in this au, but it's not really used for texting others, he just posts there and Belos kinda monitors it but even looking through his account makes him let out a disappointed sigh. Eda likes looking through it to get a laugh, though. 😭

Is Hunter still a grimwalker in your steampunk au? Does this come with any new or old hc's?

first of all, yeah!! hunter is still a grimwalker in this AU. but as for headcanons, there's a bunch of them ^_^

here's a few + doodles !! :D (artblock hits hard)

1. from one of the posts i made, i already stated that i made a headcannon that hunter is less active and a bit sleepier during colder seasons. this is also applied in the steampunk au!!

2. in the fic I'm making (linked in my strawpage), Hunter's eyes glow in the dark! but at the same time, he also is pretty sensitive to the light if you shine something directly in his face without warning. it takes a bit of time for him to adjust to a brighter space if you were to put him in a dark room for so long. :"

3. Something else about his eyes, they're similar to a cat's eyes. His pupils dilate when he's interested in something or when he's stressed out, but they're constricted when he's calm.

4. For a grimwalker, he has sharper teeth compared to an average witch. They're pretty similar to a selkidomus!!

5. I feel like his senses are a bit stronger, specifically his ability to taste, smell, and hear meaning he can definitely pick up on sounds that are harder for others to hear. But, at the same time, this also leads me to believe he's sensitive to eating spicy food and might overreact. :"]

I feel like a small fraction of my brain forgot to mention that Hunter has BPD (borderline) in my Steampunk AU

because he's been in the castle for most of his time as the prince, he never really made a real friend other than Steve, so Steve is kind of his favorite person.

when he's finally separated from Steve by being sent to the human realm with the rest of the hexsquad, that's probably his first time to actually get to know the others better, but he finds himself struggling to make a good connection. obviously it takes time and luz tries to make him feel included with everyone else, but she'd often find him sulking either in the basement in his bed or in the living room during late hours whilst everyone's asleep. he'd struggle a lot because he's probably thinking that his favorite person who was with him for the majority of his life is dead in the demon realm.

Adding an extra note: the reason why hunter still wears the goggles even when he's not working on anything is because it's Steve's old goggles <\3.

I've been thinking about Hunter a little more and I just had a thought in mind. I guess it could be considered a headcannon, but I genuinely don't think he goes through winter normally like everyone else.

I feel like he'd seem sleepier than usual. Still functioning like a normal person, just... really drowsy. I'm only saying this because I think he handles the summer heat and all pretty well, and a lot of people believe he can go into the boiling sea without burning because of Separate Tides :"

Like... what if they're having a snowball fight and he's just really zoned out, he snaps out of it when someone calls his name telling him to look out. When he turns around to see what's going on he still gets hit by a snowball and falls and accepts his defeat.

as for the AU

honestly i should start documenting all of my ideas for each au i make because i have a full list of aus (57 in total) and im thinking of all of them. but that's not the point . I'll tell you some stuff about the insectopia AU that i currently have in my mindd.

I decided to have the Blight family be praying mantises and that's all because of Alador and Odalia's abusive relationship. From what I heardd female praying mantises eat the males which I thought would be a really good way to symbolize the abusive relationship between them.

Oh yeahh, and instead of referring to witches as... witches. they'd probably refer them as bugs or arthopods instead !!! :]

palismen would still remain the same and have the same exact purpose as the show, nothing really changed much about them!!

Belos isn't disguised as a bug or anything, but I thought it would be cooler if he was seen as someone sent by the titan because he probably looks different compared to everyone else in the demon realm. I haven't actually designed him yet but I know he wouldn't be seen as human and that he wouldn't be seen as a bug either.

I'm still working on the design for him or at least im thinking about it but i know he'd have really long antlers. like tree branchesss. and that's because of his addiction to eating palismen

Hunter's design makes it a little easier to tell that he's somewhat of a grimwalker. Grimwalkers in this au are born as Venezuelan Poodle Moths !! but it's easy to mistake them as a Puss Moths (at least to me), which is why Hunter was never questioned or discovered that he's a grimwalker until later on (I'm basically trying to say he believed he was a Puss Moth because Belos told him so until Hollow Mind).

I was originally going to make a fanfiction about this but I started locking in on the Steampunk AU (it has its own fic on ao3 I'm just extremely bad at writing and am embarrassed of it but im slowlllyyyy updating it, sorry 😭).

If I finish with the Steampunk AU fic (which might take a while because it's planned to have 65-66 chapters), I will make one for the Insectopia AU. :]

got my Idooodle plushie today :] Hunter is so silly he's my son fr :D this made my day since I've been busyyyy... I haven't been able to draw my own stuff lately due to the heavy workload but I'm almost done with the semester ^^ here's the references I gave them too to make him

this was the main reference I gave them and then there's the clothing reference which just shows all the layers of clothing since I didn't want them to screw that up since the cloak covered parts of his shoulder and stuffff. also wanted them to have the pants' details (the lines!!!) since I didn't want to have it js be one solid color. i still think they did such a good job and i even took him to my uni and my friends like him 😭😭😭 HE'S THE SIZE OF A TODDLER. I need to adopt him. 💔
