NANYAMKA FRANCIQUE.

My first model is a goddess known to mortals as Namyamka. She works at my community yoga center and the first time I saw her I wanted to sprint home and get my makeup kit. She is a WORK OF ART.

At 20 years old she had a transformative spiritual experience and wears all white every day for a year to commemorate it (repeating the cycle every five). This is her second year of commemoration at age 25.

“The white in the most basic of explanations, is representation of my higher being, a sacrifice/commitment to my spirit. Paying respect to the higher powers in the universe that allow anything that I believe in to happen.” Nanyamka told me. She has a softness to her, but her power is undeniable. When asked about inspiration she said “Family…rising up from trials and tribulations with the ability to focus on the positive inspires me. Nature…anything natural, anything pure, anything truthful inspires me.”

She comes from a seemingly long line of intelligent, grounded women and overtly supports female progress in the work force. “I plan to shout us out by opening a barber shop with only female barbers of all walks of life.”

I wanted to show how radiant this beauty is so I gave her dewy, glowing skin and golden eyes. Her face is magical and if you look closely you’ll see that her soul is too.
