Direct Message - Jack Johnson & You
”I’m meeting my bf Jack Johnson in a 2 weeks!” The girl typed in to twitter before laying down on her bed. She still couldn’t believe it; in a couple weeks she would finally meet up with her idol.
Hours later she woke up in complete darkness, hitting her foot on a couple obstacles before she finally managed to find the light switch. Looking at the mess she had been too lazy to clean up after waiting all day for the ticket confirmation, she realized her phone had slipped somewhere among it all. Picking up one by one the clothes up, she could hear her phone vibrating once in awhile.
After piling up most of the clothes in front of the laundry machine the phone magically reappeared underneath a sweater amongst the chaos. Switching on the machine she checked her phone, there was a ton of people liking her tweets.
While the notification were still buzzing in, she found his cheeky message in the DM folder: ”Sorry for the trouble x”. Backing up some steps she checked the sender's profile and realized it really was the real deal, Jack Johnson. FOr some reason he had lit a match and poured some fuel to the fire by tweeting an answer to her tweet ”Can’t wait to see hun! x” and public tweets like ”Theres no pain like waiting on a loved one”. Shit the fans were going crazy...
“I guess this is my 5 seconds of fame. Before i’ll get burned by your fans.” She tweeted with little remorse.
“Haha, Sorry again! So what were you up to? Took you like... 3 hours to answer.” Jack answered only a few minutes later.
”I fell asleep. While you declared our relationship to the world.” She wrote sarcastically, he had to be hacked, why other would this happen.
”You’ve were missing up on some pivotal moments of our relationship.” He sent her a picture of himself with a drawn broken heart on a sorry sign.
”HAHA" She sent a facepalming selfie
”Cute! Don’t worry, We can make some more memories.”
Somehow they ended up continuing to talk the next day and the day after that. Actually, before she even had noticed they had talked for a few weeks, even facetiming each other once or twice. The shit storm had calmed down after he’d tweeted out fooled you all. But she started to get worried about actually meeting him.
It’ll be alright,he wrote to her as the day grew closer and on the morning when she picked out her outfit he’d managed to insist on a picture.
Her friends were still teasing her of the original exchange when they lined up, but they didn’t know the extent of their talks.
When it was her turn, Johnson was still saying goodbye to her friend who had been in front of you. Jack Gilinsky looked at you from top to toe, before shouting out to Johnson. ”I found your girl!” Gilinsky wrapped his arm around her shoulder and walked toward and slightly flustered Johnson ”She’s so cute I might steal her.”
Smile for the camera a photographer shouted and her friends took pictures on the side. Johnson gave her a kiss on the cheek and before she knew it an assistant was shooing her forward. Was that all, after weeks of talk all she got was 10 seconds with him? She thought even though she knew she should be happy, it’s more than most fans get.
”No wait, let her backstage.” Johnson told the assistant quickly before the line moved forward. The assistant looked awhile confused and deciding that she didn’t have time for this and ushered backstage. ”Wait here, they should be done soon.” She said before running off. She sat down on the sofa and texted her friends she’d join them later, she felt excited and nervous what the next moment would bring.
