Just realized Laina and Birchwood, both of whom I gened within the last week, have a kind of nature thing going on. Maybe I’ll keep up the trend on the last page of my lair...

I’ve been trying to breed this bogsneak (an antique/black/orca female) basically since the breed came out, but in spite of her would-be parents having incredibly tight range (ones antique/black/platinum, the other antique/black/ice) I’ve had no results after months of breeding.

Finally today they got a five-egg nest, and I immediately hatched it–and I got this lovely hatch.

Only to realize it wasn’t female.

But then, after experimenting in the scrying workshop, I realized something incredible.

So, meet Birchwood. He’s beautiful, and I love him very much. Consider this breed project complete

whew, feels like i’ve been working on this one forever! i know it’s only really been, like, a month and a half though. i’ve been picking away at this evenings and weekends and i’m definitely chuffed with how it turned out!

(saying that, there’s probably a bunch of errors in it that i’ll see tomorrow morning and immediately regret. such is the way of posting art last thing before bed :P)

anyway, this is my boy Shi! i’m still not exactly sure who or what he is but goodness i love him a lot. is it the teeth? it’s probably the teeth.
