Hey all!

For the past year - and probably even longer - I’ve seen a massive decline in the practice of reblogging and commenting. This year it seems it has practically disappeared. I think part of it comes from Tumblr and its many mishaps. I think part of it also comes with the changing culture. Writers become more serious about their craft, in some cases earning money from their work (mad kudos to them). But in turn this turns readers into consumers. And consumers simply consume and move on.

A lot of us writers have forgotten a few practices ourselves. When I first came to Tumblr, there were challenges left and right. Writers and Readers were building friendships, sharing each other's works, writing and betaing together. There was a sense of camaraderie that now seems replaced by commercialism. Maybe we’ve all forgotten about the simple ‘love of fic’.

Regardless of what went wrong, I want to do my part to try and make it better. So I’ve decided to start two new weekly posts:

Friday Feature

Rest & Read Sundays will be a fic recommendation list. I read a ton, I have a mile long bookmark list of things to read and reblog. So I will compile those into a list for others to find these wonderful fics.

Friday Feature is designed for the writer’s blog. Every Friday I will feature one blog. We’ll learn a little about the person behind the blog and discover their greatest fics, as well as their recommendations for others!
