 This independent film by George Romero (1968) inspired a whole genre of post Vietnam era films that hit raw nerves. Initially the films were criticized for graphic content. Um, hello, it's a horror movie!

(Not)Interestingly enough, the band Jackyl also had a song by the same title, but we are NOT going there.

Again this is my exception to my own rule. "American Psycho" is not a black and white movie. Nor was it shot before '79.But...this song by the Misfits came out in 1997. The movie which stars Christian Bale came out in 2000.

Halloween is an Acceptable Exception to the Classics Rule

In honor of Halloween, I'm going to run the gauntlet on Misfits' songs with movies with the same title. Feel free to add your own. Guest submissions can be the permanent exception to submitting movies made after 1979. HOWEVER, I will politely insist that the screen shots be done in black and white,

"The Misfits" starring Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe turned out to be the last film either one of them ever made (1961). The punk band the Misfits took their name from the movie title in 1977. This gif is inspired by their song "Who Killed Marilyn?"

In 1995 Deep Blue Something released the song "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Audrey Hepburn starred in the film adaptation of the same name (1961). The song however was inspired by another Hepburn film "Roman Holiday", but band member Todd Piper thought BT made the song title more accessible.
