How to draw the Disney way: drawing tips from the animators regarding Basil, the Great Mouse Detective.
Take note of the small drawing at the bottom of the third drawing: shapes! Animation, for a large part, is about getting the shapes of your characters right:
Part 2 can be found HERE.
Some model sheets and other production art relating to the 1990 Disney feature, The Rescuers Down Under. I mainly include these because they, together with the sleeping Beauty art I posted earlier, can be regarded a little as a “How to draw the Disney way” part 3; especially the Bernard models.
Model sheets of various Mickey Mouse villains and antagonists (in random order): a bandit from the 1934 cartoon, Two-Gun Mickey, Peg Leg Pete (various shorts), Mortimer Mouse (Mickey’s Rival, 1936), and the bull from that same cartoon.
Pete basically was Mickey’s Bluto, and Minnie his Olive Oyl.
