“My Scarlet,” James’ spirit says as he holds on the tiffany blue flowers he grew in Donnie’s garden. As he says scarlet the flower he is holding turns deep red, “Tiffany is lost. Save her catcher”
He standing back up from observing the flowers, “She was hurt. Wanted to rid her mind of all the memories and emotions. She did so by running into the woods. Now a constant fog fills her mind”
The spirit looks back at Donnie, “I lead you to her and enter the woods with you so you can escape. I have faith you can save my love”
“I just don’t understand why she would go into the forest,” Donnie sighed, a tinge of fear in his eyes, “but I suppose I can ask her that after I save her.”
He quickly ran back inside, grabbing a few essentials and throwing them together in a backpack, and sprinting back out the door towards the strange spirit.
“Lead the way spirit, who knows how long she’s been lost in that dreadful place.”
“I believe she did not want to be found,” He sighs, “But do becareful with her once you save her. She’s lost a lot of memories but they should come back once she is out. Tiffany will be confused lost.”
He takes Donnie to the entarance of the woods and points before they make it in, “She’s right there, did not make it too far before she fell into a daze. It’s upsetting. To her she thinks she is much deeper in the woods.”
Tiffany was not close to the entrance but was close enough that if you squinted then you could see her, laying in a tree trunk. James was right that she was colorless and seemed to be asleep.
“People have passed in these woods and she was close to death. I did not want to see her go. I forced her into a sleep to save her,” he explained disappearing then reappearing in the woods, only a couple feet away from Donnie “Come on Donnie. I’ll be right here with you to lead you and not let you fall under the woods influence”
An uneasy feeling rose around Donnie, while Tiffany was indeed not very far in, one step into these woods could cause mental psychosis and quite possibly even death.
He had come this far though and he knew he couldn’t just leave her there. No- no this was his friend. If the situations had been switched he knew Tiffany would come for him as well.
His confidence swelled within him now and he moved forward with James’s spirit by his side, “Let’s save her.” He affirmed with both James and himself.
As soon as he set one foot inside the woods he could feel the air grow heavy on his lungs, along with an unsettling darkness falling upon them. Donnie took a deep breath and pushed himself forward even more, eyes focussed on Tiffany’s distant figure.
“Don’t worry Tiffany,” he spoke to himself, “We’re almost there.”
James smiles as Donnie says he wants to save Tiffany. He follows right at Donnie's side with a hand on the catcher's shoulder, "Keep your head, Donnie. She needs you"
"You stated earlier that you do not know why she would come here, correct?" James ask both to start a conversation and to keep Donnie from falling under, "Remember an old friend of both of yours? Tiffany loved him dearly? I watched her decline after he was...taken. She tried everything...this was the last resort"
Once they are close enough James runs over to her body, "My poor Tiffany"
He reaches into his jacket and pulls out the flower from Donnie's garden he grew. The color was still impacted. He lays the red flower in her hand only for it to turn colorless. James sighs then looks up to Donnie, "Once we get her out I will leave once again. Grab her and take sometime to sit in the sun till you feel better from being in the forest. Let her lay in it as well"
