Penny Wong and the vast majority of Australian politicans are incompetent at best. I am once again disgusted at the Australian government. As I write this I'm really struggling to rein in my anger because this war on Iran has infuriated and devastated me (to put it fucking lightly).
Yes, the Australian government is petulantly turning the other cheek on Israel and America's human rights abuses. Australia is a deeply corrupt, troubled country - America had a hand in that, too. America is also responsible for the installation of the current regime in Iran.
It's increasingly difficult for me to stay silent when I see people who, after watching a very normal video of people in Iran talking - for example, about how little they have in their bank accounts - suddenly realise that Iranians are people, just like them. That view explains so much about the current war. Iranian people are dehumanised, and Iran is made to seem like a barren wasteland, perpetually in active conflict. One particular line I remember reading in The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas angered me so much I had to stop reading: one of the characters was shocked to see a tank rolling down their street in America because "this isn't Iran" (paraphrasing). Given the subject matter of the book, I found it deeply upsetting to read. Americans have done much to normalise violence in Iran, in part by spreading misinformation, to justify their own violence.
America recently bombed a girls school in Iran, killing its young students. I see so much about how it's a terrible shame that the school was bombed, since those girls would have had to brave so much to go to school in a country such as Iran. That's another straight up lie. I have heard several first hand accounts from people who have actually gone to school in Iran about how education is deeply valued there, and personal accounts comparing school in Australia with school in Iran. The latter won every time - in terms of how the students were treated by teachers and faculty, how the students were taught, and what they were taught.
I'm not a supporter of the Islamic Regime. But the idea that America, with all its many, many, many, many, many problems, and with how incredibly morally bankrupt its leaders are, could topple this regime is ludicrous. So is the idea that they care about the Iranian people's wellbeing. It was always clear that as long as the international community is littered with incompetent, incapable politicians such as Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong, and malignant criminals such as Donald Trump, that the Iranian people have no international support, and must affect change themselves.
As long as Iran has bountiful natural resources, it will be never be safe from shithole countries.
Just wanted to say I'm still here, still alive in 2026 which is kinda rare. I feel like every time I make a new post, something new and horrible has happened. Fuck Donald Trump, as always. He's killing people just to distract, I'm pretty sure, from even more vile shit he's done on Epstein's island. How could you get more vile than the things we've already seen? I don't even want to go there. I've seen more heartbreaking things in the past two years than my whole life put together. Trump and Netanyahu are criminals. What is the point of any of this bullshit, any of these international committees, if they cannot ARREST CRIMINALS? They are CRIMINALS - they should be in JAIL, they should be serving LIFE SENTENCES. Why are they allowed to be in power? Everything has degraded so much. I'm afraid every day.
Power to the Iranian people. You deserve so much better than this. Don't forget - what we are living through now is disgusting, a violation of everything most of us stand for. This is not normal.
Genuinely, if you're a nonwhite student doing a humanities course at uni in a white country, you are braver than any us marine :) Godspeed
When the white lecturer of postcolonial literature calls natural hair "unruly"
When. When "social justice" group members accost you to ask you where you're from ("no, as in, FROM from!") and then proceed to spout a bunch of right wing talking points about that country!
I... ????? Whoa!!! Hmmm,,,
