Hi Annie, I've suffered with restrictive eating and over exercising for about a year now. Now that I'm in recovery, every night I go on huge binges and I feel so awful, will it ever stop? Please help me x
Hi darling, yes yes this will stop. Over time your body has been in deficit, and binge urges are the first coping mechanism for your body in an attempt to get more food! You are finally nourishing yourself, so it is only right that your body is craving all good and bad foods throughout the day and especially in the evenings, when you once went to bed hungry. I would recommend upping your intake throughout the day to absolutely ensure that there is no restriction there, meaning that you are feeling completely satisfied and nourished with what you want to eat, during the day and especially after you exercise. As long as you have eaten enough, the binge urges will slowly go away. However, if your body is still craving foods - maybe look back on your days to check you have eaten enough for what your body has endured. As for binging and distractions, I find talking to others on the phone or in person, doing some colouring, tidying my room, reading a book, taking a bath - or just engaging in an activity while actively choosing to postpone eating something - are all things that can prevent a binge. If you feel like you might be out of control, maybe attempt to tell someone and have them sit with you while you eat. It sounds scary, but this is something which mum and I used to do and that always helped me. Having someone there prevents you from over eating but also prevents you from eating in private or from feeling 'bad' about eating, so find someone you trust and give that a go xx
So so rude for someone to come on your tumblr and criticize your appearance, I don't understand why people say those things when nothing good will come from it they are just hurting someone else. It's horrible. Anyway your beautiful Annie! ❤️ In all your Instagram pics your always glowing and look so healthy and happy, keep shining girl!
Thanks gorgeous, this message means a lot!! The way you treat other people truly does say a lot about your attitude towards yourself, so this kind of message just assures me that you are a lovely human I'm sure! Continue spreading the love hunny bun x
Your 5 favourite foods?
Mmmm... it's a tough one!! I love anything breakfast related, so cereals, smoothie bowls and eggs can all fit into that category. As for other foods, i love anything chocolate related, brown rice sushi, veggie stir fry, love love love falafels and anything Turkish/middle eastern. I am a big fan of salads full of roast veggies, rice thins topped with both sweet and savoury goodies, homemade hummus, yummy baking (both raw foods and regular), anything Japanese or Thai flavoured, spicy soups, tomatoes on toast, fruits and veggies in their pure form hehe I'm a freak I know, and anything will chilli UM YUM...
could you clarify for me... are carbohydrates from glucose. is that right? i'm also a little confused on what the difference between calories and carbohydrates are lol
Hi darlin! So basically, carbohydrates are classified into two categories: simple and complex carbs. Simple carbohydrates are carbohydrates that are composed of sugars (things like fructose which is found in fruit and glucose which yes, can be simple sugars). In this case, simple carbohydrates have chemical structures composed of only one sugar (monosaccharides) or two sugars (disaccharides). However, a complex carbohydrates has more than this - meaning that it is more time consuming for your body to break down, and hence, when eaten frequently - will keep you fuller for longer. An example would be choosing things like brown bread over white, or choosing kumara and pumpkin over potatoes. Although both are fine, your body will process them in different ways and you will hence get a prolonged feeling of fullness from the more complex structured carbohydrates. As for calories, a calorie is a measure of energy that consists of approximately 4kilojules. Carbohydrates are not specifically associated with calories, although yes, every form of food does have calorific value to it. Proteins, fats, amino acids and carbs will have all varying calorific value x
god I hate people! Whoever sent you that awful message is clearly jealous. You're fit and incredible. You ran a marathon (half? idk) for fucks sake!! People need to grow up. Smh.
Thank you gorgeous human for making me smile!! It's people like you who remind me about how important it is to spread the love and to care for others. Honestly, I think the love you have for yourself is just as important as the love you have for others... and people who attempt to put you down are just struggling with their own self love journey. Much love for this, thank you so much for brightening my day love x
How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you.
