Having a queer character believe he won't find love and proving him right is not good writing.

Having a character grow up in solitary confinement and then ripping her away from the only family she's ever known to live a life of solitude once again is not good writing.

Having a character be in love with his best friend and then just compare it to a high school crush is not good writing.

Having Eleven say that Mike has always been the person who truly understood her after showing us in the previous seasons that he only sees her as a superhero IS NOT GOOD WRITING.

Having two girls be abused by a man with power for the majority of their lives only to leave them dead and alone as a direct consequence of the trauma they suffered IS VILE WRITING

My question to Mileven shippers is how they think Mike and El staying together in season five will push the story/narrative forward. We have four season of them together and 50% of the time we are unsure as an audience if they are even talking. In season one, when they have their first kiss, El is still looking at Mike as a “brother”. Season 2 El isn’t even with Mike, but we do get a really cute reunion. By season three Milevens relationship is already straining Mikes relationship with Dustin, Lucas, and Will and they spend half the season broken up. I might also add them being together really brings out the worst in each character. And ofc we have season four where Mike is CONSTANTLY questioning whether or not they should even be a couple. By the end of season four they aren’t even on speaking terms. Is Mikes whole character arc supposed to be: “He was a bad boyfriend and now he’s not!” Because if so, that would be extremely disappointing. We spend the entirety of season four (keep in mind this season is the build up got the final season) with Mike and Will as a duo, and El on her own, which I think most ppl can agree that El has much more to worry about than just her boyfriend saying I love you back. If Mileven is endgame then, from a writers POV, it’s just boring.
