In Sept. 2015 a much beloved music service, ThisIsMyJam (https://www.thisismyjam.com), will be archiving itself for posterity and no longer accepting new posts, essentially shutting down but with the turntable still spinning. #TIMJ has been a bottomless music inspiration wellspring for me, and I hope my own posts have entertained, delighted, and perhaps even startled others equally. I will miss it dearly! My music posts of late had tapered off a bit, but not due to lack of interest, simply working too much in the theatres and venues. After #ThisIsMyJam I may resort to my old methods of exclusively sharing sounds via this tumblr, twitter, and soundcloud... even though the co-listener feedback is not nearly as engaging or rewarding in those spaces. That is unless someone can point me to some other little community that is as specific, rich, and rewarding as #ThisIsMyJam was, and don't say Apple Music or Spotify! ;-) Maybe I'll try to shoehorn my neglected Ello account into that void. I may troll my own jams and others for some "best of jam" to re-jam in these final weeks, but I already have a feeling work is gonna get in the way as it has been lately for August. As for my fellow jammers, hopefully the preserves help us remain connected, update your profile with some alternative places to find you and I'll be looking/listening. If a music service could qualify as a "friend", #ThisIsMyJam is perhaps the closest I've ever experienced. You're not gone yet, but I already miss you.
