Unsure why, but yes!
How football used to be.
Fantastic! Loved the shots of training in sweaters, the little kid running through the stadium, and the players in the group bath.
A second installment from the treasure trove of 1970s “Football Handbook” magazines which Rog recently unearthed. American football in the year 1978 as seen through a jealous English lens.
"Toronto Metros, staffed largely by Yugoslavs, have not made much of an impression this year."
I've been playing pinball again lately, via Pinball Arcade. Specifically the Black Hole table, which has an inset, reversed playfield underneath the main board. It was the first machine to have a lower playfield, coming out in 1981.
Other notable machines with lower playfields include Haunted House (triple playfield!), Elektra, and the recent AC/DC. I had a chance to play Haunted House at a recent pinball expo and it was a lot of fun.
Additional playfields tend to make the playing experience more gimmicky, since they take up real estate that could go towards other targets or graphics and they don't have the distance from the flipper to allow for long skill shots.
Most of the time when my ball goes into another playfield, I'm just jamming on the flippers when the ball gets in range to try to keep the ball on the playfield as long as possible. In Black Hole, if you don't hit certain targets while in the lower playfield you lose your ball when it drains. Talk about harsh!
Playing upside down is a great novelty and that's part of the charm of pinball.

New chart for Getting Blanked looking at the colors of MLB teams. Fun fact: if you bleed Dodger Blue, you also bleed Cubbie Blue.

Tigers & Giants bff.
Ooh lord that synth. You dropped the bomb on me, tumblr follower(s).
My name seems to be difficult for Mexican people to hear correctly, and/or spell correctly. After the first few times it occurred in Starbucks, I began a project: I would say my name in my regular British accent, and if the sales person repeated it with a question mark at the end, I would simply reply “si.” Here’s a bunch of photos of some of the variations of the word “Craig.”
