Jacob Blake has been killed by local police shot by police in the back 7 seven times and is in “serious condition”. The recorded video shows Jacob walking away from police into his car. Police followed him and shot him as he entered the car. A neighbor caught the incident on camera.

*correction as of 8/24: I’m seeing far more reports that he is in serious condition. His death seems to have been misreported. His 3 sons were in the car at the time. Still no action against the officers involved, but the police department issued a hollow PR statement.

January 5, 2021 update

The officer who shot and paralyzed Jacob Blake will not be charged with any crime.

Before announcing the decision, the city declared a state of emergency and has mobilized 500 national guard troops. Jacob Blake is paralyzed from the waist down after the officer Rusten Sheskey attempted a fatal shooting of Blake as he headed into his car. The incident was caught on video by a neighbor.
