Georgian First Grader Beaten and Sexually Assaulted by Male Classmates…School Says Boys Just “Rough Housing”

Valdosta - Three first grade boys kept a female classmate outside after recess by hiding in the woods, pushing her face first into the ground. The victim, whose name is being withheld, has suffered scarring to the right side of her face from broken tree branches and rocks that she was allegedly assaulted with both physically and sexually.

The victim was able to escape the male classmates after fifteen minutes of torture, running into a fifth grade classroom and alerting a teacher of what had happened. The principle of the elementary school said he had a “man to man” talk with the boys and their parents, giving them two days of suspension. He neglected calling the local authorities claiming “it did not seem like a police matter, just simple rough housing gone a little too far”.

The parents of the victim are looking to press charges on the boys for sexual and physical assault, as well as a possible law suit against the school district. District superintendent was not available for comment.

This is a fake post. The source link is just a link to CNN’s main page, not to an article about anything like what OP describes. Go ahead, google the headline. The only result is this post. Try searching the story on CNN, where it supposedly came from. Again, you’ll come up empty.

If authorities were not naming the girl involved, a picture of her certainly wouldn’t accompany any article on the subject. In fact, that photo is of young Makayla McEvoy, an Australian girl, after she was attacked by a Kangaroo on New Year’s Day of 2012.

For some reason, dropmycumberbritches threw caution (and their integrity) to the wind and made something up, apparently thinking that nobody would take the time to check their story. While it’s very true that tumblr is full of incredibly gullible people, there are those who understand the virtue of fact checking posts like this before spreading them around.

But if I’m judging by the statements made by people who have already reblogged this post, the fact-checkers are vastly outnumbered by people who believe everything they read.

depressing thought of the day:

I figured out earlier today that the moment I stopped knowing what I wanted to do 'for a living' was the moment I started having suicidal thoughts (so around 11 y-o) so hey basically ever since I started thinking about... not living anymore is the moment I gave up on finding something to do with my life ayyyyyyyyy

but obviously that's not something I can tell my parents when they ask me why I don't know what I want to do for a job

and if you think I'm exaggerating, my father once threatened to leave our holidays (in a sort of camp) on the FIRST DAY because we had a fight (we were staying 2 or 3 weeks in an apartment and I was arguing that we should at least be allowed to watch TV at night instead of just dinning and then doing nothing at all on nights where there were no nocturnal activities in town) and yelled "THIS IS ALL HER FAULT!! DON'T BLAME ME [talking to my mother here] !! SHE IS JUST SO FUCKING ANNOYING I CAN'T STAND HER!! CALL YOUR MOTHER TO COME AND STAY WITH YOU BECAUSE I AM LEAVING I AM NOT STAYING WITH HER ONE MORE MINUTE" because I disagreed with his stupid rules and yeah basically everything is and will always be my fault because I dare disagreeing with him and calling him out on his bullshit

They weren’t captured for this purpose, they probably weren’t captured at all, it’s called rescuing.

Zoos are not prisons. Zoos allow us to rescue animals, research them, and protect them from hunters and the dangers that we, as humans, impose on them.

I’m so done with all the shit about zoos on my fucking dash. 

Zoos literally save animals every day so why don’t you do your freaking research.

Animals come to zoos as a result of 

being born captive

getting injured in the wild and rescued to live a healthy life in captivity

being rescued from black market dealers, private collectors, or the like who decide that they can no longer care for the animals or who had been illegally keeping the animals

being in a breeding program to increase their numbers because the animal is endangered in the wild

If you knew anything about tigers at all, you’d know that they are endangered in the wild due to poaching and hunting. It is of utmost importance that their numbers increase, or they will go extinct within the next fifty years. I don’t know what zoo this is so I don’t know their reputation, but the tigers look healthy, and this tug-of-war is good for them because some animals get stressed in zoos when they are bored. This isn’t solely to entertain zoo guests, it is to give the tigers something fun to do.

Zoos do not snatch animals from the wild without a good reason. If you want to protest animal captivity, go to SeaWorld and protest the orcas being kept there, they are far too large to belong in such cramped spaces and they are solely kept for entertainment.

I don't know if it's the stress of going back to uni that does that but...

I've been feeling like shit this week, there are times where I just start shaking and feeling a bit faint in class, for no reason at all... I have no motivation whatsoever (plus this semester is a really busy one, my schedule sucks)... I am already really tired and anxious about a lot of things (the homeworks we're going to get, the fact that there are a lot of people in some classes and that I feel like I'm going to suffocate....

Or stupid stuff like the fact that this morning I almost cried because I got an answer wrong in an Oral Translation class and the teacher was like (in a really nice way) "No your traduction isn't right, you can do better" and I just felt so stupid like I was some 10 year-old girl in a Uni class and ugh I feel like I've lost "it" and I can't translate stuff anymore

I just cancelled my job interview.... I could have only worked on the week-ends and since my Uni schedule is completely full this semester, I'll really need the semesters to do my homeworks, and yeah

I also kind of panicked this morning and earlier this evening just thinking about the interview and my heart was racing and I started feeling numb...

But now the annoying part is lying to my mom about it. I'll tell her that I went to the interview but that when they asked about my schedule and I told them that I only had the weekends available, they weren't interested anymore but said they'd keep my 'profile' on the side just in case.....

but seriously I mean just thinking about working in a place with so many people to talk to and who'd depend on me (and would probably be rude as heck) made me so anxious.... I started shaking and had some troubles breathing in the subway an hour ago when I started thinking about all of it....

I can't wait for my father to yell at me, again
