Impose Magazine premiered My Son Bison’s second single today
My band My Son Bison has been working on an album for almost two years. Now we are done. Here is the first single.
this is what i’ve been doing lately. there’s more videos on instagram. hoping for simplicity, clarity, and spontaneity. inspired by mingus’ “spontaneous compositions” but with ableton and maschine and sequencers and such.
my intention: to start a live improvised electronic music collective (?) with me on keys and guitar controlling loops, samples, drum machines and live sampling instrumentalists, singers, etc. -songs improvised from the ground up but that still possess memorable qualities, dynamic movements, and discernible sections. and hopefully that people can dance and/or emote to.
hmu if interested. it’s more about the process than the product. avoiding attachment.

This is a video of a My Son Bison collaboration with Jessi Teich recorded in front of a live audience for the Blue Heron Studio Acoustic Sessions. The song is an MSB tune written by Joel and engineered by Ron DiSilvestro of Forge Studios.

radio session recorded at WXPN for Folkadelphia a few months ago that aired last night. i'm on guitar and piano (it was a huge Steinway grand).
