ECL310 Deakin Prompt 3 2018
ECL310 Prompt 2
Seeing this poster in the classroom reminded me of the importance of having memorable examples of literacy rules. I liked how there was a simple and easy to remember sentence that used all 3 of the sounds that the morpheme ‘ed’ makes.
ECL310 Prompt 1
I remember having many of Graeme Base’s books in our house and my older sisters or parents reading them to me. I distinctly remember the eagerness with which I would use my detective skills to scan the details of the wonderful illustrations to find the hidden clues in The Eleventh Hour while listening to the mysterious story of the feast that disappeared! I also love many of Alison Lester’s books and recall reading her book Ruby with my younger sister of the same name.
For some unknown reason I was only introduced to my own picture book namesake; Clive Eats Alligators by Lester much more recently – What a missed opportunity! So, I’ve decided to make up for this by using it as an interesting way to introduce myself to children in my future classrooms!
