Since the Clone Underground picked up Contrail a few weeks ago, Rex has been lingering back, awkward to start a proper conversation with his old lover. A message from Ahsoka kicks him into gear; Rex is not the only one with an interest in Contrail, and the time for silence is long gone.
This is a sequel to tucked inside, pressed flat against the heart.
Content warnings: background/referenced canon-typical imperialism and dehumanisation of clones, hurt/comfort, getting back together three years after a situationship in which you were never actually officially together and spent the intervening years thinking the other was dead, mutual pining, and Darth Vader haunting the narrative very very hard in the background.

Contrail, once the clone pilot who flew under the call sign Shadow Eleven, defects from the Galactic Empire in search of better causes to die for. He finds his outstretched hand meeting a very familiar one along the way - Captain Rex, whom he once loved. Who perhaps can still find room in his heart for Contrail once more.
Content warnings: canon-typical imperialism and treatment of clones, implied/referenced character death, established relationship as much as a vaguely defined not talked about situationship can be described as "established", hopeful ending.

Summary: It was one of the rare times that three of the Guard's Commanders were stuck on Senate shift at the same time with the same shift timeline. It was rare, but there were times that it did happen. Most often it was usually when the natborn Senate Guard decided to be paranoid dikuts who refused to do their actual jobs and there was a Senate vote session that for reasons Thire had never understood which absolutely required the Coruscant Guard to be present as well.
Set in the same universe as Symbiosis, the war ends with a large bang, which Echo miiiight have had something to do with. Fox visits, after.
Content warnings: past non-consensual body modification, general Star Wars themes (violence, background radiation fascism, slavery, etc.), referenced background character death (Palpatine, Dooku, Grievous... and Anakin and Obi-Wan), and the way that this could potentially be read as pre-relationship Echo/Thorn/Fox but that's up for personal interpretation.

Crosshair is not about to let Mayday die on the forsaken frozen rock of a planet. The sniper doing his damnedest to get them out of harms way. Or at least he has to try or die trying.
When they Fell, their generals took Cody and Faie with them. The Dark is heavy, but strength is carved out in small moments by the determined and by the hopeful, no matter how difficult the circumstances.

They may have been pulled apart by the duties they were designed and made to fill... but Sister and Emerie will always be drawn back to one another.
~2hr shaded doodle to create art of this extremely rare pair - since I'm seeing this as Sister being in the clone underground/rebellion with Rex at this time period Im going to count this for @cloneshiprarepair July's bingo card and go do more expanding on this pair that now consumes me
speedpaint and drabble under the cut // <ref>
Rex had everyone prepare for the new arrivals from Tantiss. Anxious excitement filled the hanger for this was the single largest collection of clones to come home. Clones waited in clusters for the ships to land, whispering prayers to the Force for vode they want to come home.
Sister watched vode deboard with half interest. She had lost so many that now she was only pleased to have any siblings to come home at all. Yet her heart skipped a beat as Echo finally stepped off with the last clone... it couldn't be her... things never happened this way.
Sister pushed through the crowds of brothers rejoicing in finding each other- drawn by the sight lingering next to Echo. Her hand reach out, gently taking hold of her face as if no time had passed. "Emerie?"
It had been half a decade since Emerie last was touched like that, had her name spoken with such soft reverence. It feels like the last time, in the half light of a lab closet and her breath still stolen after the series of shared kisses- but they haven't kissed yet. The clone in front of her with long braids and positively radiant is not the shaggy haired maroon cadet that used to hover around her as long as possible- but the soft eyes, tender lips... no they are the same. She is the same... the one that has haunted Emerie's dreams for years on end. The one Emerie was sure passed on a battlefield like they were all destined to. The one that her heart yearned for...
"Sister?" a name that was a joke between them, that her lover rather spend time with a sister than all their brothers... but now it fits her.
There was no response- just a pull. A squeak smothered by softness, warmth flooding each other and hands grasping at the other in a desperation to hold tight to the one they thought was gone forever. Eternity could have passed and they would be none the wiser. Pulling back when their lungs burned- the pair of women lingered close, bodies still tightly drawn together and resting foreheads and noses against the face of the other. There was no need to mention how much they missed the other. That was obvious. The next kiss was softer, full of reassurance that they made it out alive and there wasn't anything left to rip them apart
This mission to Alzoc III is weird, cold, and tiring. However, counterpoint: Gree is there, and Bly has missed him.
Content warnings: pre-relationship pining, canon-typical violence, background canonical sentient rights violations against clones, but primarily fluff from pretty much top to bottom. Also Gree is very much being written as autistic and I love him so.

During a stop-off on Kamino, Ponds takes a chance and propositions Alpha-17 for a bit of fun. They have more in common than either first think.
Content warnings: explicit sexual content, referenced past canonical torture resulting chronic pain and scarring that Alpha-17 is self-conscious about, feelings of alienation, and non-specific anxiety issues expressing themselves in what would be reckless behaviour if Ponds were less competent. Sexual humour and banter because despite all that this is not a dark fic.

“Who’s there?” The trooper gruffed out, effectively hiding his pain. Either he was that impressive, or he was still in shock to actually feel anything.
“Kix. Medic.” Setting aside his blaster, he shrugged the medpack off his shoulders before swinging it around for access, already taking out the emergency lamp he had with him before immediately switching it on. He gave a slight pause before swapping his infrared back to normal, where Kix met the trooper’s particular visor with his own. “Didn’t think you’d join me for a joyride down here, Commander Wolffe.”

Kix snapped his eyes open.
Darkness greeted him, a nothingness that felt constricted and oppressive, despite the rapid alarm of his internal HUD, warning him of a sudden drop in his heart rate as he ran around the battlefield to help his wounded brothers.
Nothing serious, he groggily chastised himself. Who cared if his upper body was sore? There were more pressing things to worry about, such as figuring out where the hell he was and why it was so dark here. He was more in danger of not knowing what may lurk in this unknown space than anything else—there could be feral animals waiting to tear him apart, or it could be some sort of psychological tactic to drive him crazy by restricting his full senses in this small space.
He forced himself into full awareness, taking note of the hard ground underneath him, palm swiping against the stray rocks as he tried to push himself up. He swallowed a groan, feeling as if every muscle was pulled in all directions, but he made sure he was sitting upright.
I'll be waiting here in the tunnel (It's so bright)

.... what if the rare pair has thirty-one fics for it on ao3.... can I still add it to the list?
Alright, to be honest at this point? If you'd adhering to the spirit of the event, you're fine. Is that strictly speaking not what's in the rules? Yeah.
But the rules are more like guidelines and also we're neither policing nor paying you for this.
This is supposed to be a low stakes, fun event to get more attention on some rare pairs in the clone fandom (which is why the 75% or so of the fic focusing on the ship and not being a throw away in a larger, more popular ship is the one rule we are not budging on). 30 works was always a bit of an arbitrary dividing line. So you know, don't abuse it, don't try to slip in something with 200 works, and it will all probably be fine.
(General disclaimer of we also reserve the right to change our minds, depending on this goes, but please, this isn't supposed to be stressful).
The Techno Union's exploitation didn't stop at Echo. They took Thorn as well, hauling his near-dead body in from Scipio. Tambor doesn't quite live long enough to regret it, but returning to the GAR is complicated, too.

Content warnings: canon-typical violence, canonical non-consensual body modification and non-canon non-consensual body modification, referenced character death (Fives, which we care about, and Wat Tambor, which we don't), codependency, mental link, invasion of privacy, hopeful ending.

Thank you @ninjababypowpow for the help <3 <3
Coruscant’s touristic programs never talked about everything there was to see. In fact they generally stopped at the Higher levels, possibly as far as the Middle levels if they really must.
Not that the terminology used to distinguish the levels had anything to do with any physical reality. The real Lower levels, the ones closest to the surface, had been uninhabited for centuries now (officially), and inaccessible for longer than that. The Higher levels didn't make ten percent of the depth of duracrete, durasteel, glass and cast-plast that covered the dead planet, suffocating it slowly through the millennia until the power coursing through those infrastructures was the only thing keeping the planet “alive” and warm. So the levels really were just a question of societal class.
And as it was, the only people really knowing about Coruscant’s treasures were the Coruscanti themselves. But because the segregation on Triple Zero was much stronger than any advertising campaign would ever dare suggest — not to mention the political campaigns — they tend to only know of the treasures around them, in their districts/levels/sub-cities. For most of those treasures, the ones not presented in the tourism ads, there were only two ways to learn about them : either someone else told you about it, or you stumbled yourself on it.
Amongst all of that, the Coruscant Guard had a couple of advantages. They were part of the very few people who could cross the entire planet, top to bottom, with not a hint of a problem. It was expected pretty soon into the war to see them, wherever they went. On top of that, they understood very quickly that good PR went a very long way to make things easier for them. And they had the relative luck to have been particularly impregnated with the type of propaganda stating that the Republic only existed thanks to its citizens. It mixed impressively well for them with the Kamino-generated propaganda teaching them that the Clone Troopers were made to protect and serve the Republic. That was why the Coruscant Guard was so effective : they took it as their life duty to protect the people in their charge as a way to protect the Capital Planet.
(Or that was what their PR made everybody believe. The Coruscant Guards always loved a good loophole to take advantage of.)
Now that was all nice and well for politics. But the real advantage for them was that they only needed to sympathize with people to learn about a lot of treasures, AND they could roam around, completely free to stumble on the rest. It was a win-win for those curious men, ready to use the ecumenopolis as a substitute to discover the entire Galaxy, the way their off-world brothers did.
That was all of the context they gave to their shinies to explain how, one day, a K-9 unit stumbled on one of the Corries’ very own treasures, whose existence wasn't known by anyone else of their knowledge. It was one of their most precious treasures, one of the most secrets too.
Deep down, just before the inaccessible levels, where it was still safe for near-humans to live, they found a cave network. Real caves, not duracrete ones, with an entrance hidden enough and hard enough to access that they were left alone every time they went there. It must have been inhabited a long time ago, there were traces of it everywhere.
It was inhabited now, the Corries have made it their own in every way they could. As they explored the network, they assigned a function to each cave, each room. Rec rooms with salvaged pillows, crates, tables, stools, benches, cupboards. The games stored there had been won or made, stolen and gifted. The blankets were lovingly mended and taken care of. There were refectories with old timey music speakers, alcohol and full shelves of the non-perishable food they could spare (the perishable goodies were brought with them when they went down into the caves). The lake room had a small generator and fairy lights galore, lounging chairs and everything needed to relax next to the bioluminescent mushrooms and algae, the colorful lamps and the still water.
Each cave was decorated differently. Some were waiting to be personalized still. Many already had vibrant murals, fabric hall-hangings, mosaics, sculptures and whatever the Corries wanted to dress the caves with.
And in that labyrinth, there was a particular room that the shinies learned about very quickly. One cave any Corrie could go to if they really needed to. But they also left it alone as much as they possibly could.
It was a small cave, close enough to the exit to reach it quickly but inaccessible if one didn't know where it was and where to look. It was a cave adorned with an intricate, thorough decor made of chalk. Most of the drawings and inscriptions, the plans and doodles and board games, were made of the white chalk and ocher found in the cave. Some were in the black of burnt coal. Others created highlights of flashy synthchalk with nearly every color humans could see.
All of the chalk designs made it look messy, well-loved, even though it was more often than not very tidy. Very bare. A couple of nondescript crates in a corner, some rocks and crooks that looked carved in shelves and benches if one was to look at them sideways and squinting hard. And that was it.
But sometimes, lights danced on the walls of the cave and the chalk designs came to life under it. Not half-dead symbols laying under the dust and still air but marks continuously reshaped, with some of them hidden and erased by the piles and piles of pillows thrown on the floor, the boots walking on them, the hands brushing against the walls.
“Thire. You’re pulling my hair.”
“Am not. You would keep your head up — like I've kept asking you — and it would stop being stuck between you and my chest.”
Sometimes, the four Commanders of the Coruscant Guards took off their armors, grabbed a drink or treat, a card game or a blanket, whatever they wanted, and stopped being Commanders to just spend time together.
“But I'm comfortable !”
“Skill issue.” Both Thire and Stone answered the sulking Fox at the exact same time with the exact same tone.
This time, they were all lounging in an entangled pile, basking in each other's presence. Fox finally relented to let one of them take care of his hawkbat nest of hair, complaining all of the way, even if he was already half asleep thanks to Thire’s ministrations.
“Thorn, they're bullying me again !”
“Sorry Commander, can't help you, too busy.” Thorn’s smile was full of mirth even if he barely looked up from his new project — adding the chain to a new meiloorun-shaped charm for his beloved Hammer.
“Traitor.”
“Love you too !”
The wink Thorn gave him at that — under the other two’s snickers — was stubbornly ignored by Fox imperiously keeping his eyes closed and melting a little bit more against Thire, positively starfish-sprawling now.
Thorn went back to work, tapping a quick excuse against Stone’s thigh for moving around so much (barely tilting his head on the side) while the latter was trying a new hairstyle on him.
“See Fox ? You should learn from Thorn and be nicer when I'm taking care of you.” Thire jumped right away on the opening to start again the well-oiled wheel of banter.
“I would be nicer if you stopped pulling my hair.”
More grumbling, more snickers, and back at it they were.
Thire carefully pulled a stuck lock from under Fox’s heavy head and continued combing the knots away, as delicately as he had been from the start. Meanwhile, Fox was doing his best imitation of a purring tooka between two complaints and three accusations.
“What’s the next charm you want to do, Thorn ?” Stone ignored Fox’s new retort as he secured the last braid he had been doing.
“I’m not sure… I haven't really thought about it, honestly. Any ideas ?”
“A sulking tooka in honor of our not at all asleep Commander over here.” Thire offered gleefully while he poked Fox right in the ribs, where he was the most sensitive, making him squirm instantly.
“I vote for it.” Stone’s grin was all teeth, like it always was when he was being a menace.
“You are all traitors.” Fox groaned from where he was buried against Thire, flapping a hand around half-heartedly.
“Love you too !” The three others answered in a chorus.

“How’re the numbers looking?” Jek asked, leaning back on the bench, taking his bucket off and tucking it down beside him.
“Could be better,” Gree said, still cautious around the newcomer. It wasn’t entirely fair to Jek, to assume he would act like the last Captain that led the Scouts. It wasn’t even fair to blame Patience for the way he’d been.
Just because they hadn’t gotten along, didn’t mean Gree had to be so wary of Jek.
