my peeve with vulture culture, feel free to disagree
i dunno it just sits uncomfortably with me, like the animals died regardless, but they should be allowed to decay as nature intended…
we no longer need taxidermy as a way of learning about animals etc because we have so much technology available to use, and thousands and thousands of taxidermy pieces available from when the technology wasnt there.
your denying the animal a respectful death, like you wouldnt like it if you were hit by a car and someone picked you up, skinned you and made you into a model or whatever, so why do is it okay to do with roadkill?
Demonstrate to me that a pigeon firstly has both the emotional and intellectual capabilities to have specific death rites, and secondly has death rites that correspond to human Western civilisation standards, and I’ll empty the freezer.
Until then, I don’t think a pigeon finds it any more respectful or disprespectful to be preserved and displayed, than to be crushed in an old television in a landfill and be bloated by maggots.
