Hey guys! So this post is way overdue, but Sam and I went to Otakon 2k16 this year and it was awesome! It was my first con ever and I got to meet all of my best online friends from the past 6 years. :) 

Side note: it’s also my first time cosplaying so don’t be too mean?

Friday, Sam and I were Buddha and Jesus. I didn’t find any pictures of us, so have a cute selfie instead.

That night, when we tried to rave (which sucked tbh), we were all rave!Osomatsus. I was Totoko!

Saturday was a big day for me since it was my very very first cosplay and wig! I was “World is Mine” Hatsune Miku. Sam ( @skull-grrrl ) was an awesome “Panda Hero” Gumi and my girlfriend was “World is Mine” Kaito. Katie (@pakuno-duh) was the hottest “Matryoshka” Luka and Allie (@allieelly) was the cutest “Suki Kirai” Len!

We didn’t take a group photo together so here’s a couple of photos I found from the Vocaloid Photoshoot!

And Sunday was our most complete group cosplay day and one of my favourites: Osomatsu-san! I’m the Totoko, Sam is Chorofappyski, Allie is Osomatsu, Katie is Shittymatsu, and John (@felidaeth) is Jyushimatsu! @samisueb was our momma Matsu. :)

It was really great and all of my cosplays were put together with clothing items I can easily reuse in everyday life (some of them I already had too!)

You know those moments when you’re so upset with yourself that you get mad at the rest of the world? Or when you feel constantly overwhelmed by bitterness because you’re lonely and loneliness because you’re bitter?

Well if you don’t, Chloe Price from Life is Strange knows exactly how I’m feeling. This look is casual and comfortable without looking dumpy; it’s stylish while still saying to the world that you just want everyone to f*** off.

This isn’t exactly the way I wanted to come back to the blog, but hey, inspiration isn’t always cheerful, is it?

WHAT’S IN MY BAG? - HATSUNE MIKU FROM VOCALOID

Every pop star needs a tote bag to keep their belongings safe from rampaging fans; (1) this teal&black bow tote just screams Hatsune Miku. Ear buds are essential to listening to your favourite Vocaloid songs on the go, and (2) this Princess phone case lets the world know that it’s yours.

Singing exhausts the throat and dancing is such a work out; that’s why, like Miku, it’s important to carry around (3) a water bottle to keep hydrated. Spicing up your keys is never a bad idea, so why not toss on a (4) crown key chain to remind someone that you are, indeed, “ichiban Ohime-sama.”

Just throw in your favourite (5) teal nail polish and your adorable (6) music-themed wallet, and you’re ready for a day in the life of Miku!

For this look, I really wanted to combine Michiru’s personal style with her senshi uniform. Being recognized as a classy and elegant woman, Sailor Neptune is well-suited for a tie-front blouse and a pair of suede high heels. For her trusty Deep Aqua Mirror, a mirror necklace is a cute subtle nod to the character. Finally, toss on a sea foam green tote and you’re ready to grace the world with your Sailor Neptune closplay!

This look is perfect for a date, an interview, or even everyday (if you don’t mind the heels!) The next time I go out shopping, I’m definitely going hunting for this outfit!

SAILOR MOON SATURDAYS ARE BACK!

With the release of Sailor Moon Crystal S3 comes the return of Sailor Moon Saturdays.

Our girls are looking more beautiful than ever and we want to celebrate the new animation style (which I think is something most of us are thankful for. because honestly those CG transformations were awful. and I like cg. I’m a cg animator dang it.) 

We’ll be revisiting some old outfits and releasing brand new ones! In the name of the moon, we will fashion you!

I have been in love with Miraculous. The season ended a while ago, but wow! It was, dare I say, miraculous. Ladybug is amazing. She is, without a doubt, my favourite superhero of all time and I’ve been so excited to make outfits for her!

With the tights, a simple clutch, and a pair of heels, this outfit is perfect for dressier occasions like a date night or a dinner party. Wearing the dress with this cute inexpensive ladybug purse and some flats will keep the classy vibe but make it easier to wear casually.

The most important step towards learning to closplay is to step away from the idea of cosplay. If you’re thinking more costume than outfit, you’re straying away from the nature of closplay.
