MAKE & CREATE 

Have you ever tried machine washing felt? 

It makes it shrink and crinkle up beautifully, so that it looks a bit like bobbly sheepskin.

Want to make your own hanging Christmas stars? It's easy, just follow the instructions:

- Cut the felt into different sized, wobbly shaped stars. (Please note: felt  shrinks quite a bit when washed so don't cut them too small).

- Put them into the washing machine at 40°C, you can add some detergent.

- Allow the stars to dry flat when you take them out.

- Thread them onto some twine.

They’d look lovely wrapped around a string of fairy lights, or why not try washing hundreds of tiny felt stars to hang on your tree?

FROM ALL SIDES: TANSAEKHWA ON ABSTRACTION 

We love the textures and techniques and pale muted colours in these artworks. 

Chung Sang-hwa, Ha Chonghyun, Kwon Young-woo all feature works at this exhibition at Blum & Poe in L.A. 

"Tansaekhwa artists variously pushed paint, soaked canvas, dragged pencils, ripped paper, and otherwise manipulated materials in ways that productively troubled the distinctions separating ink painting from oil, painting from sculpture, and object from viewer. Mostly rendered in white, cream, black, brown, and other neutral hues."
