Although a started this project a few months ago, I quickly abandoned it. Now I want to mess around with it a bit more. Anyway, today I made these “youngster” overworld sprites. I made walking, side and back sprites as well. There are actually 4 times the amount of variations with different shoe colors but each shoe has the same white front so putting them here would be pointless. Anyhow, I hope that having trainer variations will make the game feel more alive.

What is “Universe Realistic Pokémon?”

Pokémon is one of Nintendo’s better known franchises. Yet, it’s not perfect. You see, it all started with the Poké Dex. In the anime, there is this entry: “ A flame burns on the tip of its tail from birth. It is said that a Charmander dies if its flame ever goes out.“ Yet, this will literally never happen. No matter how many water moves you throw a Charmander’s way, you’ll just faint it, at best. I understand that this is a kids game and all, but why even mention death then? But don’t worry, this project is not all doom and gloom. Dumb tree in your way? Just torch it. Water? Ever heard of swimming? “Swimmer” is literally a trainer class. What is this Nintendo? This game, if ever completed, will be a challenge mode of Pokémon where all/most of the in-game universe’s rules are followed.
