if ever the slams needed an illustration of how precariously most players are living that story of maja struggling to pay her and her team's hotel rooms for a longer than expected stay in paris certainly provides one. but of course they know about that.

I hope this rg will teach a lesson to young promising ATP players like Jakub, Joao, Rafa and Moise. There have been talks about how big3 basically killed the next generation of tennis players, but now it’s time when it it’s to be decided whether the same is going to happen to these guys stepping up after Sincaraz. The “killing” factor is always mentality. It is about “well it’s Federer/Nadal/Djokovic they’re gonna win anyway”, which sets the ceiling in their on-court capabilities. But a GS tournament with no Sincaraz on late stages should show them that even elite top players are just as human as they are, which means 1) they are beatable 2) you should be ready to show your best tennis when they’re out. And you can’t possibly do that with a “__ is gonna win anyway” in your mind. We can see a whole new generation of tennis players and I hope they won’t be as “lost” as Fritz, Rublev, Tsitsipas, Ruud and Zverev

People may mock you but this is a healthy perspective. Tennis is your job. It has defined a part of you, but you are still Naomi and you are a mother. Tennis is only one aspect of your life, and if you have a bad match, that mood shouldn't tarnish the time you have for yourself and your child.

Most of these people are resentful and jealous and feel like they would LIVE BETTER if they were in your shoes.

But they do not appreciate nor understand the grueling schedule. The missing home. Wanting to fully rest and heal but can't because another tournament starts. And navigating basement dwelling fans like them with grace and patience.

You are doing great. Keep going.
