Yeah this is almost certainly a scam run by famed scammer Laura Deramas and her clown crew, so let's go over the evidence!
Firstly, this account's location is in the Phillipines, & their currency is set to Phillipine Pesos. Laura often likes to steal from other Filipinos to scam, and usually this is a giveaway that the scammer is Laura
Secondly, this blog has only been here since apparently January 2025, but is using very common tumblr mutual aid posts and wording, including saying "Don't ignore me" (used by Palestinian fundraisers because they are very often ridiculed and ignored, but this tumblr would literally have no reason to use it or assume people would ignore them if they've just arrived) and tagging tumblr users with a fair amount of followers, and who are often tagged in donation posts. How would this new blog know who to tag? Also, Laura has scammed while pretending to be Palestinian multiple times and has outright admitted to it (so, Laura is very familiar with tumblr fundraisers and tactics because she's done it before, and still lurks on tumblr to scam lol)
I found the likely source of this impersonation (classic Laura tactic), because there IS a Marymeyzill De Castro from the Phillipines, on facebook, and she DID seem to have a sick child. Except, the Marymeyzill from Facebook & her baby look pretty much nothing like the photos provided by the tumblr.
Below, on the left, is the pfp used by Marymeyzill from Facebook, as well as a photo of the child she was fundraising for on facebook. The child looks to be about 3-5. and then on the right is the photo used by this tumblr (which we can assume is the person behind this tumblr claiming to be "Marymezill" and the alleged child they claim to be fundraising for.)]
None of these people look alike. The Marymeyzill on Facebook as a longer face and a different nose shape, and her sick child is much too old to be the baby featured on this tumblr (and if they WERE the same child, why would you use an old photo instead of a current one, if you're fundraising for your child's current condition NOW?). Mixing and matching stolen sources to impersonate someone is very common with Laura's tactics.
The MaryMeyzill on Facebook also claims her baby was sick with "congenital heart disease", not myelomeningocele (although sometimes the two can overlap). And as you can see, the Marymezill of Facebook was fundraising for her child in 2021, not 2025, and her child looks older than the one featured in this tumblr post, AND this tumblr did NOT link the Gcash featured in the facebook, and Marymeyzill of facebook did NOT offer paypal as a payment option when she was fundraising. If you're so desperate, and you're genuine, why not link the Gcash, which is the easiest, most convenient way to receive money as a Filipino?
FB-Marymezill also publicly posted her child's diagnognosis from the doctor at the time, and nowhere does it mention anything about Myelomeningocele (which children are born with)
And lastly, which I think is another dead giveaway, the Marymeyzill of Facebook is a part of a facebook group called "Davao Oriental News" and has been since 2021. Davao City is where Laura Deramas lives lol. Here is an old rb of mine (before I knew she was a scammer) featuring a now deactivated blog of Laura's where she was begging for money claiming to be affected by the earthquakes in Davao (she was not)
So unless this tumblr can cough up some hardcore proof that there are apparently two people named Marymezill De Castro's living in Davao city who were/are both fundraising for their sick children, this is looking like a classic Laura scam.
