I can’t stop thinking about Ghirahim, but unfortunately whenever I try to express any thoughts or feeling I have I become completely overwhelmed and incoherent. I cannot create anything sensical when it comes to him I’m afraid

i wonder if Ghirahim acted like such a Freak™︎ in-game bc there was quite literally no one else he could do that to (/satisfyingly elicit reactions from) for however long he was roaming about the surface. I’m imagining this functionally immortal being bored out of his mind because the most he could get out of anyone (understandably) was fear and meanwhile there’s sooo much meticulous detail he put into developing his demon lord form that he wants to flaunt so bad but literally (understandably) nobody gaf out of fear for their lives 😭

Basic Fandom Etiquette Everyone Needs to Remember:

Creators do not owe anyone content. Do not ask writers when they will update.

If an author did not ask for [negative] criticism , do not give criticism.

Read the tags carefully before reading a fanfic.

If you ignored the tags and were upset, that is your responsibility, not the creator’s.

Disliking a ship does NOT give you the right to attack people who enjoy it.

Do not tell authors or shippers that their ship is “disgusting,” “wrong,” or “shouldn’t exist.” Shipping fictional characters is not a moral failing.

No one is obligated to justify why they ship two fictional characters.

Headcanons are PERSONAL interpretations, not universal truth.

Dark themes in fiction do not equal real life beliefs or intentions.

Leaving kudos or short positive comments genuinely matters.

Not every fanwork is made for you, and that is okay.

Scrolling past content you dislike is better than engaging negatively

Enjoying a fandom later than others does not make someone less of a fan.

Disliking a fanfic does not entitle you to announce that to its creator. Sending hate comments to authors is NEVER justified, even if you disliked the work.

ghirahim design elements that have been speaking to me lately

1. Brown eyes

In the base game, ghira’s eyes seem to be a very deep brown. I missed this in gameplay since his iris and pupil are usually indistinguishable. The HW model goes with gray-charcoal instead.

2. Dark circles

His purple undereyes are actually dark circles from sleepless devotion to resurrecting Demise, not eyeshadow? (struggling to find official confirmation of this) I like to hc he embraces the shadows under his eyes as yet another facet of his beauty (a manifestation of devotion), accentuating them further with makeup.

3. Makeup

His makeup otherwise is deceptively simple— a winged line on the top eyelid and potentially some contouring/eyeshadow to carve out the space where his browbone connects to the nose bridge. It’s easier to see in the watercolor-style official art:

I think it’s safe to say his lips are also makeup and not his natural skin tone? But it’s interesting that he chooses the opposite shade of his true form. I also wonder if the dark diamond on his left cheek is a tattoo, birthmark, or painstakingly drawn on when he does his eyeliner every day?

4. Blue earring

It’s an interesting bit of contrast in his character design that could carry narrative significance once you start to analyze the overall color choices in Skyward Sword. I’ll post a larger analysis on the color choices throughout Ghirahim’s design changes soon :3

Ok because his big brown eyes are one of my favorite details about him I feel like I have to share a close up photo of his model without a ton of special lighting or shadows so everyone can truly see the color of them

I am a much more mature adult by this point and have since grown from my random ridiculous opinions and have learned to not give a fuck about things that actually aren’t important or harmful in any way. Like I’m still opinionated, but I have considerably better media literacy now and have learned to practice fandom etiquette better

it’s embarrassing that I screwed up so much esp because I’ve been in fandom spaces (whether it be simply observing when I was a kid or directly engaging once I became an adult) for like a decade and should have known better
