Just got back from a family trip and we spent a couple of days in Germany and I'll say even though my German is bad, reading fanfiction in English since age 13 surely helped because I was the only one who could have a conversation with people 😭

#I could understand it a bit in writing tho #just really bad at speaking it #I had to translate everything just like in London #guess who was not a nerd anymore #also you guys have so many vegan food options #even at aldi 😭#I could eat almost anywhere i’m so jealous

if you ever doubt that your ao3 comments matter or mean something: i have been struggling with my writing for 6 months straight, crying myself to sleep afraid that i will never be able to write again, that the thing i love most in the world has left me, that my writing is just gone

this morning i got this comment:

and after i stopped blubbering over it, i picked up my writing notebook, and re-read all my fic research, and opened up my document again for the first time in weeks without being afraid of it

you have no idea how much writers treasure every single comment we get. you have no idea how big an impact you can have. sometimes, just sometimes, your one "insignificant" comment changes everything

I started a second WIP next to my big new main Boots-fic, because I got a very nice comment on one of my Sullitt - fics that (along with praise) said they'd love to read more about them (if you read this, you know who you are 🙂). Had the idea before the one for the big fic, but the big idea grabbed me harder... But because of their comment I'm writing on both now. 🥰

Never underestimate the power of a friendly comment!! ❤️

Y'all absolutely need to watch Hannah Gadsby: Something Special. The absolute funniest show I've watched in ages, and it perfectly fits and celebrates the queer and autistic niche. Cannot recommend enough!

Their other specials Nanette and Douglas are amazing too, but Nanette also has some intense moments that you should check the content warnings for. But Something Special is all feel-good joy and perfect for pride month :))
