hii just lettign you know if you were using spotify with lastfm it disconnected automatically for nearly every spotify user and will continue to do so every 6 months (if im not mistaken) after a recent update on spotify's end. just a heads up since i saw the last scrobbles were 2 months ago!

part of the horror of project zomboid with my american friends online is that apart from the horrors of zombies, survival, humanity being forced back into the food chain, timezones etc, the biggest scariest thing about that game is having to experience America

I've been playing Project Zomboid, and been thinking... the infection spreads not only through biting, but also is airborne (and incurable and fatal, except for the ones who are immune)

However, it also spreads by wounds like scratches and laceration. This makes a lot of sense actually, as if it's something spread by fluid contact, obviously being in a lot of bloody close-quarters fights should be extremely dangerous. A scratch while you're wearing shorts or short-sleeved shirts could be a death sentence, and it makes sense, since zombie hands and other parts should be bloody and infected.

But then, it also means that characters should wear facemasks, scarves, or whatever to protect themselves. We're talking about bloody combat and well, brain matter flying around that should be the most dangerous thing there is, when we're talking about rabies in real life, people aren't usually exposed to infected animals like that. The game is already difficult enough because a laceration or a scratch can infect you but I actually think this would fit the lore.

I should make a mod where if you don't wear a facemask, scarf or whatever, there is a small chance you would get infected in a fight, though I wonder how to make it work. I would also return the 4% or maybe 2% chance of not being infected by a bite, right now, when you get bitten you just quit, it's game over. I want to play the game for a bit more while hoping you got lucky and you had that little chance...

Another thing I would like to mod, in fact the thing I want the most, is that disinfecting your wounds halves or so the possibility of infection (I'm not sure how the game calculates infection, if it's an instant effect after you've been wounding or if I can mod it so the probability lowers after the fact), so getting infected by a laceration goes down from 25% to say 12% if you disinfect and treat your wound. Because yes, it's a zombie virus, but it's still a virus, in the setting, it's very much a virus (not a prion, or a magical curse). It should still die with proper disinfection no matter how deadly it is.
