A boule of American Elm keeping a boule of Canadian Walnut flat. The American Elm showed up right after Mr. Trump won the election 😋 - - A boule is a log which has been sawn into slabs through and through keeping all the wood together and in order.

おはようございます。

明日、沖縄市プラザハウスにて始まる「ウッディフェア」に私のカトラリー達が参加しまっす。

今回は新作のカトラリーから木べら、おたま、などを持って行きます。

A little Madrone thingy.

My go-to tool for taking the nub off the bottom. I used to take the nub off with a gouge while on the lathe right down to a tiny diameter and then take it off with a chisel. But a few lathe fly-offs and a couple unfortunate grain splits on thin turned pieces brought me to this quick little flush cut method. Quick hit through the sanding pads and it’s over.
