Alabastron I - Burl Olive Wood - mm 335x270 - - - - It’s been a good day, in the morning I have just completed shaping all the main bowls from the latest oak blank pile and so now they are drying, I will shape later all the small blanks I cored out of them. The air drying process will be also quite fast for those bowls because they all have wall thickness around 2 millimetres. If you followed my latest stories, maybe you noticed that I came across a brand new shape I then elected for several pieces, I am still looking for a name to give it and still looking for an easy way to sand it on the inside. Anyway in the afternoon I started hollowing out the two big vessels I shaped last week. And my wife took a short video when she entered my shop and she saw both pieces spinning together on the lathe.
