Jeff Meltz a/k/a @thecultureofme is a New York City photographer and blogger who aims to document the lives and lifestyles of the young and vital, including music, art, fashion, culture and nightlife.
For CMJ 2014, Meltz teamed up with analog film company The Impossible Project to snap an instant film portrait series of exciting new artists like Honduras, Ménage, Anna Rose, Julia Weldon, Angela Moyra, and a slew of others. Scope the first half of the series above, and stay tuned for the rest…

Q&A: Normaling
Lemz and .rar Kelly can read each other’s minds. The Baltimore duo who go by Normaling told me when I caught up with them recently that they usually find themselves making music while in parallel moods. Call it chance or fate, but this conscious connection results in the kind of kinetic music that plays like a conversation between people who know each other very well.

CMJ Music Marathon 2014 begins today, and we have some of Tumblr’s best bloggers and visual artists covering some of our favorite new musical acts over the next week.
We kicked off our partnerships with what we consider one of the World’s Best Times, a 4 hour pizza-eating, bus-riding event with scottspizzatours. Pictured above are just a few of the bloggers and bands having their fill of carbs and booze.
Keep an eye on #CMJ for exclusive photos, GIFs and maybe even a couple of videos from the following collaborations:

CYMBALS / CMJ
I got to spend the day with these handsome gents from London, eating pizza, drinking beer, and dancing to some great music. If you’re in NYC this week, check out one of their shows. You can pick up their new album, Age of Fracture, here.

CMJ Music Marathon is happening now. That means your time to plan is fleeting, like sands through Win Butler’s giant papier-mâché head. Luckily, we’ve got some insider intel to help you out. If you’re into guitar-based loudness, artists without a crew, or bands from other countries, you’re already golden.

Give it a listen and find something you love at this year's CMJ Music Marathon. Props to the Huffington Post for laying it all out!
